Admittedly we haven't been to Madam Kwan's in KLCC for more than 5 years but we were certainly excited about the opportunity to taste our favourite Nasi Bojari here in Singapore and see what else Madam Kwan's had to offer.
About the only thing they got right was the Nasi Bojari. Perhaps seeming a little smaller in portion size than what we recall from over 5 years ago in their KLCC branch, the taste and flavour was still there. We also enjoyed the richness of the chicken curry and my wife and I differed on our opinion of the claypot seafood. She loved it and I thought they added to much sugar to sweeten the sauce.
Service was slow and disorganised although they make an effort to have your entire order delivered at the same time. They were clearly understaffed and the majority of their service staff were Chinese nationals who couldn't string a sentence in English to save their lives.
The desserts were not their strong point as well although the portions were relatively large. I would recommend against the cendol.
The prices being charged left us feeling seriously overcharged and for the same spend we think we'll fare better at Jaime's Italian which just opened up next door.
