“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2014

We went to Singapore to spend a few days and attend the Chinese New Year festivities. We picked Bliss hotel because it was situated in Chinatown, just in front of the MRT station (Chinatown). The hotel was clean, the room spacious and the personnel friendly. You can walk from the hotel and discover the surrounding Chinese temple, neighborhood and restaurants. If you are more into the nightlife, you can also walk or take a cab to Clarke Quay. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We booked this hotel for the start and end of our 3 week holiday around Singapore & Malaysia - a family room for 3 adults. The room was comfortable if a little small. We arrived early & were allowed to drop our bags off which helped enormously as it was very hot. The hotel is conveniently located 5 minutes from Chinatown MRT with good access to the city. Chinatown restaurants were located just around the corner - as it was Chinese New Year there were lots of colourful decorations and lots going on. There were tea/coffee facilities but no restaurant or breakfast facilities, however food was cheap enough to eat out. The room was clean & beds very comfortable with much needed air con!

Stayed as a couple in December 2013 for 3 nights.
The hotel is in a great location, literally a 30 second walk to the chinatown metro station with 2 great shopping malls within sight just outside the hotel.

Our room was absolutely tiny, just big enough for the large bed and a small desk, we travelled with 2 large suitcases which we had to stack on top of each other at the end of the bed so we didn't trip over them. The bathroom however was a decent size, however the shower was flush with the floor so the bathroom floor got soaked. Our room did not have a window, which was difficult to get used to as we had to constantly set alarms so we didn't lose track of time, but we had a great nights sleep because of it.

This was a good hotel in a great location and I would stay here again just for that.

This hotel has recently been refurbished keeping the original façade from the building. Inside it is very modern, we had booked a deluxe double room and got an upgrade for no extra charge.
Great location, just around the corner from Chinatown and across the road from the Peoples Park Complex. MRT is right at the door across the road. Hawker restaurants also very close by. Our room was on Upper Cross Street, didn't have any issues with noise. Unusual choice of shower/toilet area but the glass is frosted so its not a big deal. Wifi great, quick.
Staff extremely helpful, we walked past this hotel earlier in the week before we left and returned to Singapore not realising it was there, would have stayed there prior if we knew how happy we would be with it. Nice deck out the back from Level 2, even though we didn't get to enjoy it, too busy with everything else to do. Will definitely be staying here again!!!

2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

Stayed here for 2 nights with my family in Jan 2014. Relatively new hotel in central position in Chinatown. We had 2 rooms on the ground level. These rooms were the cheapest, I booked through the internet and paid $160 Sing + taxes per room per night. They are the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in at a hotel, so it was very crammed and no windows. The other issue was outside noise. Constantly doors outside our room were opening and closing, people talking in the hallway and the waste water of other rooms running through a pipe outside our room, we would continually hear these noises through the night. I am a very heavy sleeper and have never ever complained about too much noise at a hotel so this is a first. Stay here if you can put up with the noise and you don't get claustrophobic from being in small spaces.

Room Tip: Dont stay on the ground level.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel based on the good prices, great location and favourable reviews. It was a comfortable stay and the location is every bit as convenient as everyone mentions. Although we requested a window room, we ended up getting one facing the side alley instead of the main street (Upper Cross Road). The window was half covered, but it was better than having no light.

The downsides to this hotel were the following:
- You can hear everything through the door and when the cleaners were cleaning in the morning, we could hear everything they were saying.
- The way the room is set up is very odd in that the bathroom is a clear glass cube right next to the bed. This means there is ZERO privacy for either the shower or the toilet.

Room Tip: If you're going to stay here, get a room with a window, preferably on the main street.

Rooms are not the largest, but sufficient, modern, clean and satisfactory.
Location is awesome. Close to transport (MRT and taxi's) and many hawker centres and restaurants nearby; also close to bars.

I recommend to anyone and i will stay there again!
