My memorable stay at Little Red Dot, another backpackers' hostel in Singapore, was a hard act to follow so my review for this place is a bit biased. Overall, the place was spotless; perfect for people who are particular with cleanliness but are on a budget. This place is more for those who need a quiet place to sleep in, not really for meeting new people. Only a few hang out at their common area and the books and board games available for guests seemed untouched. What I like though is they provide comforters which make a whole lot of difference when sleeping. But since I was in Singapore to go around and not much to sleep in, this luxury was unnecessary for me. Wasn't able to avail of their free breakfast - the basic toast and coffee/tea. Location-wise, Pillows and Toast is only 3 minutes away from Chinatown MRT station and Chinatown. The staff is quiet nice, not that very sociable though. Had a bit of a problem checking out as we had to leave at 6 am and they don't have anyone available to check us out. Better inform them a day before if you plan to check out before 7 am.
If you want a quiet hostel where you can hang around and relax by yourself after a long day, I'd recommend this place.
