Having read The Naked Island years ago and many other books about the fall of Singapore since, I was keen to visit Changi Prison. This museum is not the old prison but so thoughtfully laid out that you still get the feeling of what it was like not only to be a POW but also how the local people suffered during the Japanese occupation. We paid to take the guided tour and I would recommend doing so - our guide was so knowledgeable and informative. Afterwards we had time to wander around alone.
Well worth a visit.
