I think maybe we were expecting too much after reading all the rave reviews, it wasn't bad, it was just ok.
We got a taxi here so as not to waste 90 mins on public transport. $22 on way there, all good seemed worth the money.
The zoo has a lot of space for the animals and is set in very lovely tropical grounds, you just have to keep avoiding the bus that goes around for lazy people - it's not that big guys!
The food area was noisy and not that clean, the food choices were ok mixture of local and world food. Toilets were clean.
Generally the zoo is well maintained I think the monkeys and the White tiger were the best things to see, the giraffes looked like they could have more space and the polar bear was no where to be seen.
Not a bad visit just not that amazing.
Ended pretty badly with a 50minute wait in a queue for a taxi which when our turn came was a Mercedes and cost us $34 , 50% more to get back. Be warned.

“Brilliant !!!! The worlds best zoo ever !!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2014 NEW

This has to be the best zoo in the world by far !!!! You feel like you are with the animals in their natural habitat. Orang a tang hanging around freely, monkeys etc. Place is amazing and you have not visited Singapore unless you go to the zoo. Forget the shopping that's everywhere, but where could you see a polar bear !!!!!

“Love the monkeys”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2014 NEW

The zoo is nicely laid out. Most animals have room to roam. I felt I was looking at them in their habitat.

“Jungle Zoo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2014 NEW

Fantastic. We skipped the australian section as we are aussies and kiwis, and instead focussed on the jungle selections.
The Breakfast with Orangutans in the morning is a feature that is extra cost but well worth it. A great close up view of a delightful family of Orangutans. Just beautiful.

Loved the lemur which are, living cageless within the park grounds.
A great interactive experience for our boys.

A zoo that deserves its excellent reputation.
Easy to walk around and navigate.
A truly fun day with teens and kids.

“Still a zoo, good for kids but not for elephants”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2014 NEW

I didn't understand what the fuss is about. Some animals seem good but others seem to seriously lack the space they would get in their natural habitat. You can't observe the animals peacefully and other visitors pay little attention to the information about the animals but try to grab their attention for a picture. I want to say that t was shocked at the way they cared for the elephants. Thank God they will stop the rides from early next year but this is to protect the helpers! If they are really protecting wildlife as they pretend, don't they know about about the breaking techniques of wild elephants so they accept performing tricks and being ridden? Tourists shouldn't ride elephants at all. But the money appeal was too strong maybe.
