“Fully serves its purpose”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2013

Was there for one night to wait for my friend's arrival in the morning. It was basic but the room was clean and check-in was easy. Price was in fact very reasonable. Shower in the gym nearby and everything is there for an evening. Recommended.

I have stayed in all The Ambassador Transit Hotels in terminals 1, 2 and 3 at Chiangi airport. My last stay was in the terminal 1 facility. The room appeared to have been newly remodeled. Accommodations are basic with frills that range from nil to none but clean and comfortable. While perfect for long layovers, I have also used transit hotel accommodations after late night or very early morning arrival into Chiangi. Rather than pay a for a full night at a “proper” hotel, I spend 6-8 hours in the transit hotel . wake up refreshed, clear immigration and head to my “proper” hotel for my whole stay in Singapore . This will only work if one has no checked luggage. With more and more folks being aware of this convenient transit accommodation, reservations 2 weeks prior is highly recommended.

Room Tip: Make reservations at least 2 weeks prior. Transit hotel gets fully book very quickly.

This was our second stay at the Ambassador in Changi's Terminal 1 and we will certainly use it again. The hotel can be a bit hard to find (its's on the upper level near Gate 41) but once you do, you will be checked in promptly and efficiently. The rooms are very basic but have what you need for a restful sleep between flights. They are clean and pleasantly decorated, although they are internal rooms and have no windows. The bathrooms are similarly basic but clean and have adequate hot water and the necessary toiletries. The management makes an effort to ensure that the hotel is quiet and that sleepers won't be awakened by other guests, as it has 24 hour checkin. It is well-priced and easy to book, although their office doesn't answer the phone on Sundays and you don't get email confirmation of bookings made on the phone, just a confirmation number. All told, it's good value when you need a convenient place to recover between flights and aren't searching for luxury, just basic comfort and reliable service.

The first thing to notice is just how quiet it is, not only from the outside with aircraft, but inside as well .corridors are quite. A real haven of peace, where you can rest/sleep - exactly what you need. The best part is looking out your window and find a plane looking at you!
The rooms are clean and very comfortable, my room was fresh and tidy. Tea/coffee provided with kettle
The other benefit is being able to use the swimming pool and being able to change back at your room. WI-FI is free and i feel more airports should have this kind of facility and it is reasonably priced.

My only complaint is tiny bed in this hotel. Otherwise, rather functional room. Not modern, but clean and fully functional. Great noise insulation. So would not hesitate to return if transiting in Singapore...

I have stayed in all of the Ambasador transmit hotels in Changi at one time or another. They have clean and small but well laid out rooms, nice showers and they are great for grabbing a shower and a snooze after your trans pacific flight. Many flights from the US come in later in the evening and you want to catch discount air guys at 7am - 9am. Check in on a 6hr block, get cleaned up and when you leave in the AM for the leg to your destination you are already almost on local time. The 24hr food is also close so you can grab a snack after check in.

Room Tip: Changi lost and found will collect your luggage if you are making a transfer to/from a discount airl...

For me the transit hotel is a lifesaver. I fly a fair bit to KL and other SE Asia cities, and often hub out of Singapore- and picking up a few Z's in a flat bed is a blessing for me. This is a very basic hotel (especially if you get stuck with an economy room and have to shower in the gym), but at least it's a flat bed in a clean, secure room, and there's free wi-fi in the lobby. If you get a normal room, the shower is decent- basic but clean.

Room Tip: book well in advance, this place usually fills up! 'Normal' rooms are definitely better tha...
