“Nothing fancy but very handy when you're in transit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

We spent one night here in between a midnight flight in and an early morning flight out. It was the first time we've stayed, and we did so on the recommendation of frequent-travelling friends who use it regularly. The hotel is pretty basic -- really not much more than a dorm room, but it was clean and had everything one needs for a good night's sleep, a hot shower, and an early start. True, the rooms don't have windows, but that means they are dark and quiet, and the bed was comfortable and the toiletries (soap, shampoo) adequate for the purpose. We booked online directly with the hotel website and had no problems. The front desk staff were rather slow (we got a trainee, I think) but polite and very helpful; as the room didn't have a fridge, they were happy to put our chocolate cake (don't ask!) in the office fridge overnight for us and did the same for a young mother travelling with little children who needed to refrigerate baby formula. The price is very moderate, especially in comparison with other airside hotels we've used. The only difficulty was that we found it very hard to find, as it is at the far end of Terminal 1 at mezzanine level and very badly signposted. It is also quite a long walk from the gates, but of course, there are lots of interesting shops and many food outlets at Changi, so there are things to see and do on the way! But it is lots easier than clearing immigration and going elsewhere, especially if your layover time between flights is only 8-10 hrs and in the middle of the night. We'd stay there again.

Room Tip: If you have carry on luggage, a heavy computer bag etc, be sure to find yourself one of the airport...

This transit hotel is a little hard to find although it does supply the information that it is located between gates D40 and D 41. Better signage downstairs might be useful. The rooms themselves are very basic, lacking such things as a fridge, but ours was clean and comfortable enough and above all quiet. The staff was very obliging keeping our perishables in the hotel's own fridge overnight. The price for six hours, $91-81 plus $16.48 per additional hour, seemed reasonable. If one travels Economy Class, preferring to break long journeys into shorter chunks, such a transit hotel certainly beats stumping up spectacular sums of money for Business Class and attempting to sleep all the way. Avoiding going through passport and immigration controls not to speak of security checks is almost beyond price. IAN

We stayed here overnight in between flights because we only had 6 hours. The room has no windows, no water, no tv, it´s a cage! The interior is outdated, very simple and in a desperate need for a cleaning.
On the upside, we didn't have to go to through customs to find the hotel and in the morning we went directly to pick up our luggage.
The service is terrible. They are extremely insensitive and rude. I would never stay there again.

We booked two 6 hour blocks to meet our stopover time in June 2012. The room was clean with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee facilities, adequate bathroom and toiletries,- ideal for a chance for a sleep and stretch after a 10 hour flight. Soundproofing effective and we were not disturbed by planes although children next door could be heard. The room, while adequate, was small and users should not expect the equivalent of more than a cheap 2-3 star equivalent.
Being in the transit area meant we did not have to clear immigration or customs,-a bonus.
Reception staff were helpful and wake up call on time.
The advertising states gym is complimentary. In fact it was outside the actual hotel, limited in scope and required a fee to be paid for use.
We would happily use this hotel again in similar circumstances.

I had a budget room for 6 Hrs. It was very basic room with a bed, desk, lamp and LCD TV. I could not fit in the bed as I am 6 ft. Staff was friendly, especially swimming pool bar attendant. There is an AC in the room, but hallway, gym and shower area were hot and humid. Overall OK experience.

Had a stopover in Singapore on our way to Phuket. We arrived and departed from Terminal 1 so the location of the hotel was perfect for us. Travelling with three kids meant we needed two rooms and they managed to find us two very close together. I booked two weeks prior and found they quickly responded to any queries I sent through. I was very pleased with the rooms and surprised at the size of them (bigger than expected).

We booked well in advance for a six hour block as we had a 10 hour layover in Singapore. It was a good choice, although flying Jetstar meant we left our luggage to the lost and found section so we didn't need to go out through immigration etc The lost and found was a good way to go as we went out and picked up our bags and checked back in again, without any issues. The transit hotel was comfortable and clean, for us a little noisy as we had a room with a window so could hear planes, overall very good with good ensuite and two beds, tea and coffee facilities also provided. The hotel was a better option than staying at more expensive ones just outside of the airport.
