Skilled driven reception, skilled drive housekeeping, but the breakfast food restaurant this goes badly wrong. Juice which is very reduces juice, the eggs are not cooked enough, coffee that tastes old, dirty cutlery and waiters do not understand anything, and the chef clothes, never have I seen such a dirty chef uniform in my life. People left the restaurant, where is the management? How can this be accepted? And how do the kitchen look like? And yes there are many Chinese people in the hotel, which gives a lot of noise at night, doors banging, Chinese people who do not take account into other. And yes there is a lot of noise from the aircon.
But it is OK beds and TV works. But it is more than SGD 80 than the SGD 130 you pay!

The hotel is clean and well located. The beds are extremely hard, Air conditioning is hard to adjust and too cold on low. I turned it off. The most disappointing aspect are the extra costs: Wifi is over $5 for 30 mins, adding about $10 a day to the bill. A small bottle of water is $3.90.

As silly as it sounds, slippers is an important item for a stay. This place provides none, which means that I have to walk barefoot inside the room, where its floor--in case of this place--isn't that clean.

No free wi-fi. Seriously, no free wi-fi when hostels provide you with not only free wi-fi, but also slippers to be worn inside.

No telephone which means that I cannot ask about details like those directly to the front desk/housekeeping. That'd be 11-storeys downstairs.

Didn't try their breakfast since I was only here for a short crash.

With that being said, it's interesting how the place quote for "membership fee" but there's no sign of membership given afterwards: membership card, etc? You can flash your HI card at HI facilities all over the world and get discount. Does the membership paid pertain only to YWCA Fort Canning? What do I get as a member?

For the 100 USD that I've spent, I'd rather rewind the time and stayed elsewhere, namely: 100 USD ensuite room in hostel with free wifi and slipper, that doesn't require you to be a paid member to be crammed in an elevator with 15 ill-mannered Mainland Chinese teenager boys.
