My husband of 8 months and I spent our first holiday together at the RELC in Singapore. The place was fantastic, clean and comfortable. We were jetlagged and yet felt like home and were able to relax and sightsee and come in for a nap whenever. The hotel is just off Orchard Road, which made for a suitable walk to town and back. We loved it and would book in there once more for our next trip.

We stayed in RELC for one night at the start of our holidays on 19.11.08.
I was very disappointed with the hotel. To start with, the reception was cold. The room was spacious with a decent balcony but was shabby and short of amenities. The balcony was all covered up so it was no fun standing there in the oppressive Singapore weather.
I paid SG$200 for the night and hence was not amused. The location was in a residential area and away from everything and I regretted my choice.

RELC basically run courses in the same building and are more focussed on that than the hotel business. At SG$200 you can have a lot of choices in Singapore- I stayed afterwards in Park Royale on Kitchener Road at SG$170 and that is a 4 star hotel (booked through WOTIF.com)

A nice & clean Hotel at a good location with a very nice staff.
If you are using a budget room you have to share the bathroom, so it depends upon with whom you have to share it. So, its safer to go for a higher level.
Breakfast is something I never enjoyed.. its just a breakfast, except for the Spring Rolls. But you cant complain.
Other than that, its a very clean hotel, with a good service. Specially the staff at the front office is very helpful and kind. They became good friends with us, which made us sad to leave the Hotel.
How we booked the hotel??.. we just called them directly over the phone and some lady took the booking verbally. We got a reference number. It was easy.

a nice traveller class hotel. located in orange grove road, tanglin side of orchard road. its quite a walk from hotel to tanglin mall and orchard road, but the street its well lit at night. just dont get caught in the rain. there's a bus #36 serving that road, not sure if it stops at orchard road and near the hotel. hotel offers breakfast. if u check-out early the next day, you can pass the breakfast coupons to the cafeteria the day prior to check-out (before it closes at 7pm); and the cafeteria will pack some sandwich and packet juice for you to bring along the next day. executive room is spacious, with bath tub & shower, basic toileteries, water boiler, fridge, tv & a balcony. good for those on transit for a night or two in singapore, but not for those hardcore shoppers (quite a walk back to hotel from orchard road) - but then again taxi is plenty. staffs are courteous and helpful.
