I had to spend a day in Singapore on my way back to Italy. I did choose Hyatt for its location near the residence of our local representatve, as well as its central location. The layout of the hotel is a bit complicated, but it looks very good, ample choice of restaurants, good rooms and a really ideal location with direct access to the underground trains.
Service is not up the standard it should be, i have found waiters, concierge and reception not very attentive and prompt, as one imagine a place of this level should give.
It may be the "Singapore" effect, they do not bother, too much people going there anyway.

This was a combination business / pleasure stay, and the Hyatt really came through on both. We stayed in a grand deluxe room with club lounge access. The room was spacious and had all the features you would expect from a business hotel. It overlooked the garden area and pool and was one of the quietest urban hotel rooms we've ever had. The food and beverages in the club lounge were the perfect complement, a relaxing spot at the end of each business day. The hotel has several fine restaurants and is in the heart of the Orchard / Scotts area, with many other restaurants an easy walk away.
A minor gripe: The club lounge and the restaurants opened at 6:30 AM, which was too late for me to have breakfast before my morning commute. So room service was the only option for breakfast.

I will cover the scores and why I gave them.
Cleanliness I can't fault so gave that full marks. However some of it seems a bit old fashioned hence marking down one.

location is only good for shopping centres if you want to be be near the marina, financial district, bars and clubs then this is not for you.

Rooms are large and beds comfortable, bathrooms are very nice. marking down as the TV are big but the tv's picture totally sucks. Also there is nothing on demands which I find old fashioned.

Service and value is ok nothing special, cleaners are probably most friendly members of staff. Apart from the gym everything cost extra from wi-fi (i couldn't believe this wasn't included) to breakfast. Expect only a room and gym usage for your €200 a night. For the dated decor and poor location I would expect better service and some freebies to make up for this.

Hope this helps, if you want a large room but an average hotel with average service and extra facilities you need to pay for then go for this one.

Two points to note is the lift is the strangest thing having to insert your card to go anywhere and it doesn't seem to always work so you could end up anywhere. Also if you are on the wrong side of the hotel it's a real pain to get to the gym so don't expect to jump in the lift and be there at the touch of a button.

This hotel is like an old well made Swiss watch!

Service is overall pretty excellent and easily matches other 5 star hotels in Singapore if not beat them.

The lobby and the public areas are done in Hyatt's typical Japanesque clean, efficient and elegant design.

Rooms are starting to age a bit specially in the main tower but are still very comfy and considerably roomy with separate living areas.

Location is one of the best at the heart of action on Orchard Rd. The only draw back to this location is the omnipresent traffic jams and the pricey ERP fee that you have to pay if you take taxi to hotel. Both are easily avoided by taking the excellent MRT only minutes away.

Overall pleased with this stay and the hotel as a whole.
