“great hotel and nice staffs”

It is my first time stay at Amara hotel. only take less than 10 minutes to check-in. I love the club room and the hotel staffs were friendly and helpful. very clean and comfortable room.

the hotel location next to restaurants, mart and cafes. I think it was a small shopping center just next door.

the location can be reached approximately 20-30 minutes to or from changi airport. 10 minutes to orchard road. 5 miniutes to 1 fullerton.

I stayed there on a business trip during Feb 2013.

The hotel is at a good location and a short walk away from many offices in the CBD. It is also a well-known landmark among locals so even if you get lost on your way back (as I have), anyone on the street can easily point you in the right direction.

The room is spacious and well lit. The bed is soft and provides a good night's sleep. Air conditioning is adequate as well. The staff were also very helpful and efficient especially in processing my check-in and check-out as I was in a rush on both occasions. The breakfast provided was very good as well.

In summary, I would recommend to stay here on a business trip.

My family of three (that is with my adult son) stayed in a suite (two double rooms with connecting door) for 4 nights in April 2013. The room with king size bed was big and spacious, whereas the other room with two single beds was smaller. The rooms were clean and basic amenities were provided. The check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient, staff were friendly.

We did not try the breakfast in the hotel as there are hawker centres nearby (10 minutes walk), and the Tanjong Pagar MRT is just 5 minutes walk away. Therefore, you can reach most part of the city easily. The shopping mall next door has been upgraded and re-opened around November 2012. There are convenience and fashion stores, a food court, a supermarket and a few restaurants, cafe, in it.

Overall, we have a pleasant stay in this hotel.

Found mixed reviews for this hotel especially on bad service but fortunately I had all positive experience.

Check in was smooth, was straight away given a room & had free upgrade to a room with free internet. It was also a corner room which i believe is more spacious than a normal one. Room was clean and homey. Bed was comfortable. Our floor had an ice dispenser located just outside the lift. Quite surprising that there's a lot of space once you step out of the lift going to the rooms. In fact there's a sofa there.

The lobby was quite elegant. I noticed there's one staff assisting. He led me where to Q for check in. Saw him approaching other guests to offer his assistance. Impressive.

Location is convenient. Just beside is a small shopping mall with grocery. Right across you can find local food. Its a few mins walk to the mrt.

Pool area was relaxing & wasnt crowded. Breakfast was so-so.

Will definitely go back.

I stayed here with some friends. One of the friends booked the hotel. The room appears nice but the beds are small. The bathroom is large but the hair dryer started smoking and over heated. The first time we called for service they were great and brought us extra wine glasses and ice, but when we called for a DVD player they asked us to call another department who then asked us to call another department and in the end they told us that there were no DVD players for us to watch a movie.

Finally the main reason the stay was so poor was because we all ended up with bed bug bites. I was completely shocked and disgusted.

I want there last month, first i arrived hotel 11.00 a.m. One thing impress me that guy at front desk gave me room before normal check-in time. My booking is 2 nights and i didn't eat breakfast at hotel. I think service was good hotel looked ok. Nice swimming pool but gym quite small. Good value.

service in the hotel is horrible. Shower did not drain and safe did not work. I called front desk and they said they will send someone immediately. I left and return 4 hours later and the problem is not fixed. I called again and they said they will send someone immediately and I waited for more than an hour and no one came. I called again and this time I was no longer pleasant and the lady said, yes I will come immediately. I booked cancel able reservation thru my corporate website for a 2 week stay and they gave me such a hard time. They made me call Egencia to cancel which egencia did. The next day, I informed the front desk that I am checking out 4 days later and they gave me a run around. For 280 Sgd a night, one would expect good service,except all that one gets is crappy service!
