After doing a lot of research I decided to book Pan Pacific for our stay in Singapore. We spent two nights there and I could not fault the hotel.

At check in we were upgraded to a balcony room at no extra charge, which afforded a lovely view of the harbour. Also, we flew with Singapore Airlines and even though we technically didn't get a free breakfast with our rate, the lovely guy at reception added that on for us as part of their promotion at the time. They also gave us free late check out and stored our bags for the remainder of the time as our return flights was not until night time.

Freebies apart, the room was great and everything you'd expect from a hotel: New, comfy beds, fantastic shower (and separate bath too), a writing desk with an array of international plugs (a nice touch we thought!), a big plasma tv (again with all sorts of cables for anything you'd need to plug in there). All the furniture was new and modern too.

The breakfast was fantastic. There was great variety and the quality was great.

The pool was really nice with nice comfortable loungers and the pool staff would clock you coming towards a lounger and come to give you a free bottle of cold water. Again, nice touch. There was also a shower room by the pool with lockers, which we used on our last day to get ready for our flight home.

The location was great too.

All in all, great service, great food, great location and modern hotel. Everything you need.

We stayed at this hotel in December 2008. The hotel was great. The service was excellent. I booked 1 room for 3 nights - with special deal stay 3 nights pay for 2 and 2 other rooms for 2 nights with Singapore Airline deal with free breakfast. Pan Pacific Hotel staff called me a few dates after I booked the rooms to offer a special cake for my sister and nieces birthday, cool. We arrived the hotel on 2 different dates but they make sure that our rooms are opposit the other. They also put an extra bed in 1 room free of charge. The free chocolate cake and fruits delivered to our rooms on date and time requeted. The chocolate cake was so yummy. I love the staff, they are incredile always with smile and helping us. They even told the taxi drivers the places we want to go and look after our luggages. The rooms are huge even with extra bed my little nephew still can run around. The view are stunning. The bathrooms are big with separate bathtub, shower and toilet - also plenty of complementary toiletries. I love the remote-controlled drapes, Herman Miller chair. Breakfast wa delicious many choices. Swimming pool is also huge, love the chairs around the pool and the view. Both inside and outside lifts were amazing. My niece forgot the password of the safe, the staff turned up in a couple minutes to fix it. We will definite stay at Pan Pacific Singapore again and again. Thanks for your great services.

This is a really wow place from the moment you enter the foyer to the automatic curtain and sunblind raiser! The breakfast was magnificent and everything beautifully presented. Cold water (and fruit if wanted) were immediately handed to you at the swimming pool and the lady attendant made sure we had a plastic bag to put our wet costumes in afterwards - useful as we were about to fly home. A little far from the MRT station but you could walk there through the cool shopping malls. The bus stop was right outside the hotel. A great place to stay!

Just thought I’d add my voice to ‘chorus of approval’ for the Pan Pacific.
My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights last week on our way back to the UK from Bali, and we would wholeheartedly agree with most of the comments posted here. We received a free upgrade on arrival (to a balcony room), and found the staff to be very polite and professional. The room was spacious and modern, the buffet breakfast was delicious, and the concierge gave us some good tips for maximising our brief stay in Singapore. We didn’t get chance to try the legendary Indian restaurant as there wasn’t time, but overall our stay was a very happy one. It’s true that Singapore hotels are expensive, but we shopped around and ended up paying less than £ 100 per night for the Pan Pacific including taxes and breakfast. Getting the Tripadvisor No 1 hotel for the price of a bog standard one was an unexpected bonus. I wouldn’t hesitate to book in again.
