“Excellence !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

One of my best hotel experiences ! The rooms so homely, but the bathrooms are something else ! Their breakfast lacks of absolutely nothing. Excellent room service and hospitality ! The public areas are a piece of art

Room Tip: The higher the better, but anywhere would suite me fine if I had to visit again !

Good rooms, although in the recent renovations they seem to have resized the rooms on some floors. Good breakfast, very helpful staff. Great concierge. Nice Italian restaurant ( forget the name) and good options for vegetarians - u wont go hungry here.

I stayed here on Oct 6th. Magnificient. Excellent room service, housekeeping and a cosy environment. World class service. We will upgraded to the Premier Suite. Systems will down that day but was up within 30mins and was checked in immediately.

This is a very nice property near the Marina district of Singapore. Not quite a walk, but a short $5 cab ride.

The buffet for breakfast was just fair, but equal to other hotel restaurants we tried.

The rooms had big expansive views, and equally big bathrooms. The automation controls for the windows and sound were not labeled well, and it took me a few days to figure out how to get things to work.

The staff was extremely accommodating and went out of their way to assist. The self-service coffee in the lobby was excellent, but they clear it around 10am.

I expressed my need for a good espresso, and the desk clerk when off and made me an espresso straight away. Impressive.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Marina district. Much nicer view.

Actually got room because of a company retreat. I know it's one of the pricier hotels in the area. I also brought my family along for the weekend.

I was really impressed with the service. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. Much more so compared to other 5 star hotels. One staff kept my two boys occupied while I checked in. And when I asked for an extra bed, it was brought up promptly. I had expected to be charged for it but it wasn't. Even in the lifts and corridors, the hotel staff would great me warmly, instead of ignoring me. Which is quite common in other high end Singapore hotels. When my hubbie came back from a run around the bay, one of the staff at the lobby provided him with a cool bottle of water without him asking for one.

The only other time I felt this welcome was when we were in Hong Kong, staying at the Excelsior hotel.

The room was huge! I loved the huge windows. Which gave us a lovely view of the Marina Bay area. I would suggest requesting a room facing the bay when you book. It's stunning.

It's also next to Marina Square shopping centre and linked by a walkway so it's very convenient for shopping.

I would say that for the standard price of the room, it's worth paying for the room and service. Compared to other similarly priced high end hotels in Singapore, the service is excellent.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the bay, the view is amazing.

Stayed here for business, tried to check in almost 5pm and was told that room is not ready. Lucky that the reservation offficer at the time quicky checked me in in less than 10minutes. Buffet experience was superb with chinese healthy chicken food and afogato. The rest, I expected more from this hotel actually especially when it comes to its amenities aside from Ritz's signature window-looking bathtub.

The rooms are huge and clean, the bed is super comfy and the room has amenities you would expect for a high class establishment, there is a man to open the front door for your, an extensive breakfast buffet (be prepared to queue) and the staff seem happy and friendly on the surface. But I would expect this of any 5* hotel with this price tag. The Ritz met those expectations but did not exceed them in anyway, hence I would rate it as average in comparison to other hotels in the price range, clearly if you are comparing it to a 20 dollar a night hostel it is far superior.
