the building is well preserved. the famous high tea set is enjoyable. but in the restaurant so many tables to enjoy a high tea, may you feel a little noisy there. the venue itself is very convenient for foreigners.

Despite our very short stay the experience was memorable for all the right reasons. On arrival we were seated in the large reception area and offered complimentary 'Singapore Slings' we were dealt with quickly and efficiently by one of the best service people that I have met. Our bags were whisked away and we were guided to our room. All the staff that we interfaced with all went that extra mile to make sure that we were content and 'at home' in our new environment. The room was large clean and well appointed. The bed was like floating on a cloud. That evening when I was a little lost in one of the verandas two staff approached and asked if there was anything that we needed. I said yes that we were checking out earlier and would otherwise miss breakfast. Within five pleasant minutes an early breakfast of our choice was arranged, bag pick-up and transfer to the airport. The next morning it all happened as planned to the minute! 10/10

We went here just for a cocktail one evening as when you are in Singapore you have to do this. The bar has a very lively feel to it and we loved throwing peanut shells on the floor (they encourage you to do this) The Singapore Sling was good although it's pricey. Would definitely recommend going here.

As a writer, Raffles has been on my bucket list for some time. When the opportunity came to go there at last, I grabbed it. And it lived up to every expectation and more. The staff are genuinely welcoming and attentive without being annoying. The building and our room was spectacular. If those walls could speak...but the staff were more than happy to explain the hotel's history. Marvelous. Plus it is close to transport, shopping and restaurants if you can tear yourself away. I would go back there in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Try having breakfast in your room - the service is sensational, and the food fresh and delightfully...

Raffles more than lived up to our expectations. The staff were all helpful and responded to our requests without being intrusive. Our courtyard suite (although one of the cheaper rooms) was large and divided into separate areas and was furnished in keeping with the atmosphere of the hotel. Afternoon tea served on our balcony was one of the more special memories.

Room Tip: If you have a room overlooking a courtyard then consider whether you would rather be on the ground f...

After signing in was abandoned in the lobby and after another 15 minute wait complained and suddenly the key for the room arrived. No coffee or tea making facility in the Suite which seems surprising for the price of this hotel. TV was extremely old reminiscent of the 1980's with a poor picture quality. WIFI was slow with poor connection. Overall the hotel is beautiful so skimping on small things took the edge off the experience.

After 2 weeks in Sri Lanka this was a haven of colonial charm and luxury. Fabulous decor with genuine treasures of the past and an almost embarrassing attention to detail. The rooms were divine and if some say it is a little shabby, I wish my house was this shabby. Staff were amazing and made you feel (over a very short 2 days) like you had been staying there for months. The only problem was the bar prices at least three times higher than any other place in Singapore so we felt ripped off. Although the bar staff at the Whiskey Bar had no problem in parting with their Negroni recipe. So if you love the hotel and not the bar and food prices Singapore is a wealth of great eating and drinking opportunities on the streets. Just loved it and saving up for another opportunity.
