“Splendidly Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2010

This is an overdue review for a 2 night getaway to celebrate my partner's birthday.

Stayed at this hotel primarily as we had a fantastic christmas deal with the Feed at Raffles card which got us a room at S$200 per night, together with the positive reviews here.

The only slight glitch was at check-in. I had called the day prior to check in to request for an early 12 noon check in which was acceded. However when I checked in at 1.30pm, the staff said that they could only offer me a twin room with a bay view or a king room without a bay view (I had requested for a king room with a bay view at the point of reservation) at the time. However, they tried very hard to accommodate my requests and could get me the room I preferred with a 30 min wait, which I was ok with. I also mentioned at the time that it was my partner's birthday, so they said they could arrange something special if I could wait another 30 min extra.

Upon entering our room, we were pleasantly surprised with a small pot of lilies and birthday balloons, and a full bottle of Moet champagne! Not sure if we got this as I was a Fairmont President Club member, but it sure was generous of them and much appreciated. One of the staff also came to our room, introduced himself and ensured that we had everything we wanted.

The room was spacious and the bathroom was posh with a very nice bathtub for a bubble bath. The decor was modern, though one could tell that it was a refurbished room (the hotel has been around for a long time under different management). Amenities were plentiful, generous and frequently topped up. Housekeeping came in frequently enough (but only when we were out) to keep the room clean throughout the day, and the turndown service at night was appreciated.

Breakfast at Prego's included a wide spread which was partially varied on the 2 consecutive mornings we dined. There's also a nice big pool with many deckchairs available, with complimentary use of the sauna/jacuzzi facilities at the adjoining Willow stream spa.

Overall, this was THE best hotel experience I've had, and the management has been meticulous in ensuring that staff are all well trained and provide a high level of warm, genuine and efficient service all around. I felt almost like royalty during my stay, and would most certainly recommend anyone to stay there, and I would most definitely stay there again in future.

We stayed at Fairmont for the last 5 nights. We booked our accommodation through corporate rates (around $290 singapore dollars per night).
We were put in a room on level 13 when we first arrived. This was meant to be a Deluxe room with a nice view. We didn't really like our view - we were overlooking Raffles hotel and it was just concrete jungle. We asked to move to a marina view, but were still on the 13th floor. Much better view but wished we were higher. We didn't get any breakfast in the price we paid. This would have been an additional $37 Singapore dollars for breakfast buffet.
The pool was nice. We spent almost every day there. Sometimes may be hard to get a seat.
Location was good - it was near an MRT. And shopping was close by.
All in all, about a 7 out of 10.

We booked the Fairmont - Singapore for 7 nights. Having stayed at the Fairmont in Dubai a few times - I am a big fan of the fairmont.

We were given a super room with view of the harbour and pool areas. We tended to get up late but with no pesky housekeeping service - we just let them know when housekeeping can make up our room. Breakfast is a leisurely affair - loads of choice. The gym and spa are both well equiped plus there is plenty of seating areas around the hotel to chill out We did not travel with kids but the hotel seemed happy to offer tennis, pool activities - without intruding on travellers without kids.

We particularly liked the number of restaurants available as part of the Raffles complex - 19+. Catering for all tastes and budgets -f rom Equinox in the Swissotel to Sushi Tei - great sushi.

The reception staff confirmed our check out time as 3 pm and we were given the use of the hospitality lounge - free tea/coffee/water - great for late flights. The staff at this hotel are just so superb - I can not rate them highly enough. Nothing is too much trouble and always genuinely welcoming.

There is only one small downside - paid for internet! For a 5 star hotel the charges are pretty high - S$28.00 for 24 hours. I just needed to check a few emails daily - it would have been great to have 60 mins for free each day.

We will definately return - sad to return home to the uK and leave this lovely paradise!

Stayed here again on another over night layover and was glad i made the choice. Stayed in the North Tower, which while apparently not as new as the South Tower - I preferred it as the room was a lot more spacious.

Oh and the Macaroni and Cheese on the Room Service Menu is to die for......

We move to this hotel after spending just one night at the Raffles Hotel, because I made a mistake with the reservation and the Raffles was fully booked for the next days. So we just went across the street to the Fairmont, I am glad we did, not that the Ruffles is not nice, but our stay at the Fairmont was perfect. We stayed for a total of 5 days and We just loved it, our room was very spacius and had a perfect view, overlooking the Merlion. We got to stay in 2 diferent rooms, because we left for 3 days to Malasya and came back. Both rooms were very nice and had the same great view. It was so comfortable that it felt like being home.
The people at front desk and concierge were very profesional and helpful but the best of all the staff was Mohamed, the door man, He is one of the nicest and friendliest people we ever met in our trips, He was able to remember our names from the first day and he always had a smile in his face. What a great gentleman!
If we ever go back to Singapore, we will stay here.

We are a family of five that stayed at the fairmont for four days after a wonderful cruise on the Virgo.

Location of the hotel is perfect. We had a raffles room in the south tower over looking the harbour on the 24th floor - Stunning.

The Staff in the club rooms were amazing especially Jaqueline and Kelvin, who made our holiday so memorable, and thank you again Kelvin for looking after me with the lovely fairmont tea & honey as I was not feeling well.

We will definetely return.

Couldn't have picked a better location for public transport. It was raining when we got there and we didn't have to leave the building to get to the lobby. The lobby is very limited, but it didn't matter to us. Our room was absolutely amazing and we had a great view of the Esplanade. Everyone was more than helpful, though our room was not turned down on the first evening.
