We were very pleased with the welcoming treatment given us, after having being cheated out of two paid reservations for the Raffles Hotel across the street from the Fairmont.
The hotel is a typically modern hotel, with all the conveniences and services one can desire. We stayed at their suites which are unusually large, with great views and central control for everything, from drawing your curtains to turning off the lights. The staff is very courteous and friendly. There are various restaurants in which have your meals. The hotel is connected to a large and varied shopping mall, featuring a variety of high end shops an eating facilities. The location is excellent for visiting the city.

Room Tip: The higher the room, the better the views.

I was greeted by a concierge as I arrived. We walked straight up to the room and they checked me in in my room. I was upgraded to an executive club suite which had to die for views. The gym was great and the breakfast amazing. I stay in lots of hotels and this experience was close to the best.

For those who think: Wow, a new Fairmont in Singapore (like me) you may be disappointed. This was previously the shorter sister of Westin and was built 30 years ago. It has changed many times. The reception has been nicely renovated, the rooms are ok but the bathrooms aren't. Since 30 years walk-in showers have been invented but the Fairmont has slippery bathtubs that are dangerous, leaking faucets and only for that reason I will not return. The first hotel-booking website that gives me the choice of the type of bathroom facilities will be mine forever.
80S$++ for 3 days internet is steep and S$45++ for a buffet breakfast is as well. The location is good so you will find cheaper breakfast and much nicer coffee nearby.
If hoteliers renovate hotels they should include the bathrooms as well.....

Great hotel. Very attentive and helpful staff. The rooms were managed very well. The breakfast spread is to die for and amazing. Couldn't ask for a better location. Across from the famous Raffles hotel who is the creator of the Singapore Sling (beware of high price). The Fairmont is located within the raffles city mall which is convenient because in Singapore everything is at Malls including great food. The food court in the basement of the hotel is amazing. If you want amazing views go to the bar on the top floor of the Swiss Otel next door which is connected to the Fairmont. Great views.

You can't beat the convenience of the location for this hotel.
The service is fantastic. The rooms seems to be showing their age but well sized all the same. The spa and fitness centre were great - though the pool seems to be over run with expat kids on the weekend - not relaxing at all.

Had a lovely 3 nights stay at this exquisite hotel situated in the heart of Raffles city in Central Singapore. The Fairmont Towers go up into the heavens offering a birds eye view of the the various islands which make up the city state.
The Marina Bay with its boat shaped Skypark casino, the landmark Merlion,the Singapore Flyer and the cathedral are all worth the sight from the room balcony. The hotel has spacious and well done rooms served by smiling and efficient staff at all levels and has some famous restaurants. Another highlight is the bustling shopping mall at the basement.
Except for an unexpected blemish from the concierge team who seemed overworked and not keen to help, the stay was an unforgettable experience.

We stayed at the Fairmont for two nights over a weekend. We didn’t know at the time that many Singaporeans chose to stay there to watch mini-fireworks at the Marina. When we arrived at the Fairmont at about 11:30, there was a 10 minute wait for check-in, and for the rest of the day, there was a crowd of guests waiting at the reception desks and airline crew and guests waiting in the lobby. This is a big hotel. We were upgraded to a Deluxe room, 1217, on the 12th floor in the North Tower, facing Bras Basah Road and looking down into a courtyard of the Raffles hotel and looking up at Shaw Towers. The room was triangular with two porches along the long side of the triangle. There was a convenient make-up table and hair-dryer plug by the king-sized bed and a writing desk in the opposite corner. The bathroom was quite large with an enormous tub and a sink with well-stocked amenities such as toothbrush, etc. The coffee for the Nespresso coffee maker was replaced daily.

Good refrigerator that even partially froze our ice packs
Negligible neighbor noise, negligible Bras Basah street noise
HBO and Fox Movies, Star World on large TV
Easy check-out and access to taxi to airport
Across the street from Chijmes restaurants, Raffles hotel and its restaurants

Con
Asians may find that the toilet is a little far from the sink/bathtub and no handspray
Only one peg on back of door to hang bath towels
Toilet flush disk in wall had to be pushed really, really hard to flush
There was infrequent noise from neighboring bathroom of water and a valve shutting off
Blanket was so heavy that we had to turn air conditioning to maximum cold, maximum fan

We learned from Wikipedia that the Fairmont, Swissotel the Stamford, and Raffles Hotel are owned by the same group which thus manages a full two blocks of self-contained dining, sleeping, and shopping in this superb location. We booked a room with free Internet, but next time we probably would choose the cheaper pre-pay room rate and buy a 3G SIM card for Internet. Overall, our stay was very good, and we recommend the Fairmont, and probably Swissotel for the convenience of the location, MRT station, restaurants, and shopping.
