Just back from 7 nights in the Oriental and I cannot recommend it enough! This 5 Star Hotel is one of the best I have ever stayed in. The service, quality and quantity of staff are out of this world. Every little detail taken care of in a Hotel that looks as though it opened yesterday. My partner and I took a Premier Room with Harbour View. Well worth the money, we were greeted with relaxing music upon entering our room from the surround sound system and a great view of the marina and Merlion. Nice sized room with great bathroom. The power shower was fab!
Had room service a couple of times and the prices were very fair. The food came 30 mins later and was served by a waiter as if an ala cart meal. Which it was! Coming from the UK the price to the pound made it a pretty reasonable cost.
Great facilities although they are refitting the Gym at the moment so you either have to use a much smaller temporary Gym or they can give you a pass to Fitness First about a 15 min walk away.
Also good to note that they are constructing some sort of stadium in front of the Hotel. Whilst it is not going to block anyone’s views it is a little noisy at times during the day, but not a major problem unless you’re a very light sleeper. You can see the construction in one of the pictures I have taken.They tend to start work at 8am and finish 6pm. Over all would not stay anywhere else in Singapore, indeed we did fly off to KL on this trip and should have stayed 5 days in Malaysia but came back within 24 hours cos we just could not do without our Singapore and the Oriental Hotel!

My wife and I just returned from a 5 days stay at The Oriental. I decided to make the stay a little special by staying in the Club Ocean Suite (club indulgence). I booked the room directly with the hotel. The service offered on the telephone was a good indication of the great service that was to follow.
Included in the package was the Mercedes pickup. What a nice way to begin. Driver was right there to meet us and handle our luggage. Having a cool car with cold water, chocolates and cool cloth was indeed welcome.
Arriving at the hotel, we were taken directly to our room for check-in. No lobby waiting. Our room was 53 sq. meters with King Size bed, functional desk, love seat chair, and small balcony overlooking the ocean. The sight of 100 or more ships entering the harbor was quite impressive.
3 vases of flowers and a nice selection of fruit were replaced at least once a day. Maid and turndown service, including a selection of cookies/cakes were 2 or 3 times a day.
The Oriental Club on the 20th floor made the club upgrade more then worth the price. Breakfast was delicious, plentiful, scenic, and very well presented.(Champagne included)
Light fare with teas, coffee, soft drinks, cookies and fruit were available through the day.
Liquor, wine, and food were available in the evening. The menu rotates over 7 days so the food theme is different every night. Service in “The Club” is incredible. Melvis and the rest of the folks will treat you as a VIP or a member of the family, whichever you prefer. The Oriental Club is a very comfortable way to enjoy your morning coffee or night cap before bed.
The MO Singapore is in a very peaceful part of town yet convenient to transportation, shopping, or just enjoying the water. Do not hesitate one moment staying here and do consider the club option. It is indeed a few more dollars but consider the service that is included. They sure know the meaning of the word SERVICE.

Second time spending one night layover at Oriental. Rooms are crisp, clean and modern. Service is exceptional and friendly. Club Room had great breakfast in a great room with good view of the city. Hope to spend more time at this hotel next visit to Singapore.

It was a good experience. It was the first time in my life that I stayed in a luxurious pplace because I have not enough money to do in Europe or the USA but in Asia.

Well ,the hotel, the staff, the room, the swimming pool, the breakfast was fantastic but I expected something else.

Perhaps is just my problem because is my first time in this kind of hotel but it was not something to remember as I expected but, again, perhaps is my problem.

As soon as we arrived they tried o give us another room , more expensive, which I did not like. They said that our room was not ready and some stories and I felt as if they wanted to get more money...

Next time I will stay in the fullerton, better location

Just one advice: In the Arab quarter there was an arabian restaurant. I do not remember the name but it was in the corner ob Bagdag and Kandahar streets. Really, rellay, really nice.

A good hotel anyway
