We stayed at the Mandarin Oriental recently and we were upgraded to a bigger room, with a balcony which was fantastic. The room was generous with a lounge and desk and extremely clean plus they even had made a little baby pack for my daughter and provided a child robe and slippers for my son which i was impressed with. I had breakfast at Melt with my 4 yo and 2 yo, while my husband went to work and the staff there were so helpful the choice of food was amazing, one of the best buffet breakfasts I have been to. The location is great as it's connected to marina square (which connects to suntec) via the carpark or stairs outside the hotel, which is really convenient. If you walk straight through the carpark there are quite a few breakfast places as well which is really handy.

My husband used the Oriental Club lounge for work in the morning before his meetings and he said it was very good.

The pool on level 5 is fantastic again with excellent service. there is a children's pool and another bigger pool. As soon as we sat down on the lounges we were given bottles of water straight away and the kids were given pool toys to play with. We were there for only 1 hour at the pool and were provided scented cold face towels, a small cup of ice cream and a small cup of jelly each as a little snack - all complimentary.

On our 2nd night we all fell sick with the flu and the dr had to ring the authorities to ensure it was not swine flu. We were then tested and quarantined in our hotel room till the results came back. The hotel went above and beyond our expectations by upgrading us again to a junior suite whereby we had a lounge room and a separate bedroom with 2 bathrooms, so that our quarantined stay would be more comfortable. The front office manager Amit was so fantastic with the service he provided. Once we went into our new room he had arranged for snacks, boxes of soft drinks, baby/toddler food, boxes of bottled water, cereal, an xbox for my son to play with, kids dvds, kids books and toys to be placed in our suite to make it as comfortable for us as possible - all complimentary. It was just unbelievable. Obviously we ordered a lot of room service as we were not allowed out of the hotel room and the food was delicious.

Once our results came back negative Amit had said we could stay in the room for as long as we needed. When we checked out at reception Amit personally farewelled us and wished us the best.

I can genuinely say that this is the service provided is exceptional and the best I have ever received in any industry or situation. I cannot fault anything at this hotel.

I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone

We stayed at the MO - and would return tomorrow !! The hotel is in a brilliant location, really handy for lots of the sights and a taxi to some of the further away attractions was cheap. We upgraded to the Oriental Club and never have we been so well looked after. The staff there,in particular Jaya and the Manager Melvis Tan should be employed by the Tourist Board, they are so knowledgable and incredibly helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they are an absolute asset to this hotel. Our room had a view overlooking the Harbour - which was amazing. We ate in the Melt restaurant - buffet style - but what a buffet, so much choice and desserts to die for. We also dined at Mortons Steak House and the Italian Restaurant, both good quality. We managed a couple of afternoons at the pool which again was extremely well served by the most friendly and efficient staff. We loved Singapore and when we return it will be to the MO. Sheer Class.

Good location (close to Singapore Flyer, Marina and Suntec Malls). Excellent rooms with every concievable facility (although a little smaller than some hotel rooms in its class). Service very good and would certainly recommend this hotel if you wanted more from your city break than "just somewhere to lay your head". Try and find yourself some time whilst you are there to spend around the roof top pool- the service there is fabulous- certainly on a level with hotels such as The Four Seasons. Complimentary fruit, papaers, magazines, sun tan lotion. Chilled water replaced every hour and the most wonderful complimentary sorbets delivered on a regular basis. Well done Mandarin Oriental, we shall certainly seek out other Mandarin Orientals on our future trips around the world.

the location is perfect just opposite marina bay. we spent our new year there to see the fireworks display. of course to get a view of the marina u have to pay little more but it was worth it. the whole hotel is done in an oriental theme. the rooms are lovely. downside being the pool area and a lousy gym. however proximity to the mall is good and so do not eat at the hotel which can be expensive - just hop into the mall and there are tons of good restaurants on level 2

My wife and I stayed here for only a couple of nights for our honeymoon on our way back from HK and Malaysia. We were tempted to go to Raffles only because it’s Raffles but the $1000/night price was enough for us to say no.
Man O was recommended by a friend who has stayed there before. We had a harbour view room so we could see the Merlion from our window. The harbour is starting to be dominated by cranes and shipping so is not attractive as say HK harbour but it was nice all the same.
Service was very efficient on arrival, check-in was smooth and professional. We were immediately shown to our room which was nice and features were all explained. Welcome drink took a little while but the quality made up for it.
The bedding was very comfortable; TV was still CRT but that wasn’t a huge problem. The decor at the entrance was a bit ho-hum, the quality of the wood was very good but it was very plain. Some like that, others don’t.
The hotel is very quiet and the service is very friendly.
We tried Morton’s Steak House. To be perfectly honest, we found it overpriced. The quality was good but I have had better steaks in Australia for cheaper. Quantities were humongous, probably too much actually!
For some reason though, the Man O seemed to embody Singapore a bit too much. Professional and clean, certainly, but perhaps also lacking a little character. But for no-frills, business-type travel, it’s definitely spot-on.
Location is quite good though the walk to the MRT is not exactly short – having to walk through a labyrinth of shopping centres to get there.
