“Good service, nice location, and great shower!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2014

Booked two nights recently while doing some health checkup with my husband. Decided to try Regent since they had better price than hotels its calibre. Fast check-in, and we got upgraded to a suite! What a nice surprise. Love the fabulous interior, and how the rooms are set up on the outer sides of the inside of the building. The room is spacious and clean. The bed was a bit hard but great pillows. And of course, L'occitane products in the bathroom! When we got back to the hotel at night, I noticed that they fixed the towels. Housekeeping was fast and efficient. Breakfast was okay, just tried it once, but I think Trader's was a bit better. Swimming pool looked nice but I didn't try it. Overall, excellent hotel!

Room Tip: Because of the location, all sides of the hotel are fine.

Dear minnboulder,

We are delighted you selected Regent for your recent two night stay and that we were able to accommodate you in one of our suite rooms.

Hopefully, when you next return to Singapore there will be more time to relax poolside.

Thank you for your feedback regarding breakfast which has been shared with our chef.

Warm regards,

Anne Arrowsmith

Booked a one night stay in Regent Hotel for my wife's birthday. Was pleasantly surprised by the good service provided by the staff the moment we stepped into the hotel.
- concierge was friendly and fast.
- spacious room
- a child's bed was already neatly set up in our room upon check-in.
- housekeeping was efficient & fast
- water/shower temperature is working good
- hotel sent us a cake and muffins to our room as it was my wife's birthday, foc
- breakfast spread was good in a spacious restaurant called Basilico.
I'd go back again just for the good service that is so lacking in our country.

stay at regent hotel for a day to attend a meeting on my business trip. room was big, service was good, breakfast was nice but everything you request was no. pay for club room because much more easier to get late check out even thought understand it wasn't complimentary and not a must to give by hotel. request late check out upon check in but unable, i was okay with it in the beginning. while i still stood at reception area, a white couple queue behind me, stay at club room get the late check out. Are that Asian do not deserved a good service as well? I stay in club room at so many 4* & 5* hotels. i never ever been treat by that. except from that, the rest were good, i might consider to go back again for the second chance.

The Regent is in a good location, but is looking really tired, the paintwork in places is shoddy. The furniture is old and needs replacing, and the showers are above the bath (really, in 2014 ?!)
The gym is pretty poor and equipment not great and needs some attention
the first room I stayed in which was non smoking suffered from smoke coming through from a floor above, in fariness I was moved but there was no sense of apology even though the room stank of smoke
so all in all there are more modern and better hotels to choose from

The Regent suffers from the same problem as many hotels in Singapore, namely that the building is getting a bit old and tired. However, the interior is of high quality. I stayed on the Executive floor, and the lounge facilities there were good, although the breakfast was a bit limited. Executive floor guests have the option of eating breakfast in the main restaurant downstairs, but I did not bother. If you are hoping to swim lengths in the outdoor pool you may find it a bit small. There is a shopping mall with a big supermarket right behind the hotel, which is convenient. Overall I was pretty satisfied with my stay.

My husband and I stayed here for six nights during a recent vacation trip to Singapore. We were so impressed with the service given from the professional, friendly staff. We arrived very early in the morning and asked if we could check in even if there would be a charge. The hotel was fully booked (which I knew from the internet when checking before our trip), but thanks to Anne the Director of Marketing and Carmen at the Front Desk, we managed to get in to our room after just a couple of hours. Not only that, we were upgraded to a suite. This was above and beyond our expectations. The room was spotless and comfortable. We especially liked the power bar beside the bed with multiple sockets where we could charge all our electronics, phone, tablet and camera all at one time! We couldn't find reservations at the hotel restaurants on 14th February (Valentines and last night of the Chinese New Year) so Diney at Concierge was able to recommend and reserve for us at a great Indian restaurant 10 minutes away by cab, which was not an easy task that night as everywhere seemed to be fully booked (we had tried a couple of places ourselves before going to him) and again very much appreciated by us. The next night we had dinner in Basilico, the hotel's Italian restaurant. The service and food were excellent and we found it to be very good value for money. We also liked the location of the hotel, just off Orchard Road, convenient to everything. Our flight home was very late at night, and we were offered the use of the Health Club to freshen up before we left since we had checked out earlier that evening and left our luggage in the hotel so we could enjoy our last few hours in the city. We were surprised to find a full range of toiletries at our disposal in the locker room, including deodorant and even hairspray. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again when we go back to Singapore.
