“Excellent place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

This is a really nice place to stay by the river. rooms are well furnished and clean and staff are very helpful. Its near to the MRT and all the cafe's/restaurants of Clarke Quay, plust most attractions are a short ride away.

Location is fantastic, but the hotel is nothing special. What really got on my nerves was that the staff were unfriendly, not willing to help.
Examples:
We arrived at midnight, were exhausted but no help was offered to carry our luggage upstairs. Receptionist almost didn´t speak to us or looked at us when cheching-in.
Our room smelled like swerage.Pillows were huge and very uncomfortable, window curtain was torn, toilet leaked when flushed
The worst thing was the staff. During chek-in receptionist spoke three words to us, very unfriendly. Later I asked for directions at the reception and the receptionist couldn't even show me the hotel's location on the map advised me to ask the concierge, who was able to help.
On the second day, I called to ask if there was free wi-fi in the lobby and the woman said yes, when I went downstairs with my computer, the answer was no.
When we tried to borrow x-box games, they explained some children had already borrowed them, I asked if that was done for a specific period of time and they said no. When I asked that means my son may have to wait for two hours in case the other children don't bring games back, the answer was a plain "yes".
Breakfast in the first morning was served with a fruit plate for each of us, in the second just one plate for all. When we asked, they said breakfast including fruit meant two slices of fruit, in the first morning they had made a mistake! When we ordered a coffee, we had to wait 15 minutes to get it.
On our last day we decided to visit the zoo, they told us we could go there by train and bus (it took us 1 hour and 45 minutes) or by taxi. We took public transportation because the zoo is quite far. When we arrived there we saw there were shuttle buses for 4,5 $ and they could have picked us up from other hotels in the area.
So all together, the location is great, the room is really nothing special, but the service is a disaster. I guess people don´t like working there or they need training to make people feel wellcome!!!
Will not go again!

Spent 6 nights here and enjoyed every minute.Handy for Clarke Quay and MRT and only a short walk to Chinatown. The first night was a problem owing to the noise from the clubs at Clark Quay, and after discuusing it with reception, was upgraded to the 23rd floor which was terrific.A lovely breakfast on offer and a food court and shops under the hotel, was very handy.A great view of the Marina Sands area and the local Skyline was beautiful at night when viewed from the balcony of your room.A beatiful clean pool is not to be missed either.I look forward to staying here again.

Room Tip: A high floor room would be an advantage
