“Excellent stay!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

The Singapore Marriott is an excellent choice when traveling to Singapore on business or pleasure. Located on Orchard Rd., you are right in the heart of the upscale shopping district with easy access to the rest of the city via the MRT station located just steps from the entrance of the hotel. $10 unlimited use (train and bus), tourist passes for one to three days are available at the ticket booth at the Orchard station. The MRT is the best way to get around the city. Impeccably clean, quick, easy to navigate and one of the few bargains you’ll find in Singapore.

Being that this is primarily a business hotel; the hotel has a contemporary, upscale look and feel to it in both the common areas as well as the guest rooms. If you’re looking for more of resort experience, there are several pool suites surrounding the perimeter of the fifth floor pool. This was one of the nicest pools of any city location Marriott I’ve ever stayed at. There’s also a fairly high rated restaurant located at the pool aptly named the Pool Grill. I only tried lunch there one day while relaxing by the pool. A bit on the expensive side but the quality and quality of food was very good.

Being a Marriott Platinum Elite member, we were upgraded from a Deluxe room to an Executive room on the 30th floor with a great view of the city looking towards Marina Bay and the Sands. The room was exceptionally clean, well maintained and comfortable. My only complaint would be the lack of drawer space in the closets. Enough for a single traveling business person but lacking for two people.

If you’re a Marriott Gold or Platinum Elite member, you’ll receive free internet access and access to one of the nicest Marriott Executive lounges I’ve ever been to. Second perhaps only to the JW Marriott Hong Kong Executive lounge. They have a great spread of food along with a full complimentary bar each evening. Another nice option (as a Gold/Platinum member), is that you can choose breakfast each morning in either the lounge or in the Crossroads Café located in the lobby. The café offers a huge buffet assortment of both western and Asian breakfast selections, one better than the next. As an Elite member this was an outstanding benefit (and value) since the buffet normally comes with a $38 per person price tag . You can choose to eat inside or out which is a great way to people watch along Orchard Rd., if you can stand the heat!

The staff couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. Everyone we encountered acknowledged us with a smile and if you looked the least bit puzzled or perplexed, would ask if there was anything they can help with, especially in the lounge.

While expensive (but then again all four/five star hotels worth staying in in Singapore are expensive), the Marriott truly delivered on all counts. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone planning on visiting Singapore.

Room Tip: High floor rooms have a great view and the pool suites make you feel like you're in a resort

My last visit here last year left much to be desired. But this time the remodel has been completed, and it has made a big change. The room was very comfortable and clean. The new shower is great. The staff was really helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet is really good with a full selection of western and asian dishes. The wifi worked really well throughout the hotel.

Stayed one night in a king deluxe room after a week of work, we thought why not indulgence ourselves and pay a little more for quality.
Without any fault, the hotel is a 5 star class, grand entrance into the lobby to the reception counter. The staff are efficient and professional. We got some drinks on arrival. My request for a high floor was fulfilled. Being a member of the Marriott group entitles you to complimentary wireless apparently which was nice. The room is very comfortable, furnished to a modern decor, the bed is heaven and the bathroom probably the highlight of the room. For those who enjoy a little entertaining, apparently the tv channels are much better than some other similar hotels range. We were very happy with the room and the overall experience.

If you were by any chance ordering some midnight snacks, you can't get passed the 'MARRIOTT BURGER'!!! If you ordered two items or more, they wheeled room service to you.
And you cannot leave the hotel without paying a visit to the pool on level 5.

My review is simple, if you want to indulge and shop, Marriott would be the best hotel on Orchard. We have stayed at many hotels in the past including the Hilton, Orchard Hotel etc, this is by far the finest of them all....

I love staying in Marriott hotels and this one did not disappoint. The foyer was huge and impressive as was the outside especially at night when everything was all lit up like Las Vegas (but dont hold me to that as I havent gone there, yet). The staff were lovely as were the rooms. The lifts were slow I guess because of the size of hotel. The pool was very nice with free towels and a nice looking restaurant beside it which we didnt eat in because of two things: (1) it was quite expensive and (2) the menu was uninspiring. We did however treat ourselves to the buffet in the hotel on our last night and i have never eaten so good (or so much). I challenge anyone to not be able to find something they can eat as there is such a vast variety of delicious food, dont even get me started on the desserts! I also had the best back massage I have ever had in ghe spa. Well done Marriott, another great hotel.

Room Tip: High up to see the great views.

Rooms very clean and good sized. Service efficient and very friendly. Outstanding English spoken. Location is great even though most attractions a bit away. However the location is the central shopping area with one under ground mall after another and they are all connected! Breakfast is fantastic but $35 is expensive. Beers are $16. In fairness To the hotel, Singapore is one of the most expensive cities in the world. It makes Stockholm and Tokyo look inexpensive in comparison. Only item that is fair prices are the taxis. A good thing for the location. Overall a fantastic hotel experience.

We stayed here using our accumulated Mariott points and enjoyed our 3 day visit. We optyed to pay and extra sing 100 per night and upgarde to the executive floor (40). The included breakkfast choices were extensive and over the top...you will want to spend the whole morning trying everything!
The club floor offered cocktails and enough appetizers to destroy your dinner.

Room Tip: worth the cost of higher floors but generally good views everywhere

Lovely hotel, it is making a statement with the large reception, water fountains and the like. Impressive entrance. Huge open area, friendly efficient reception, plenty of lifts. I got an upgrade and had a stunning room. huge TV, shower the size of my lounge, desk etc and great views. Onwards and upwards to the exec lounge uber friendly service, great nosh and flowing drinks. Views were superb from there. Ate and drank from there for a couple of days - absolute first class. There is also a restaurant on the 3rd or 4th floor but didnt use as well as one in the foyer.

location is very close to many shopping malls therefore this is a great spot to drop your bags and walk from if you want to do a bit of shopping on a stop over.

I stay in a lot of Marriott's. best one so far for me. not sure what a normal room is like though so take your chances ;)
