“Brunch? Suffer the Queue!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2012 via mobile

Good concept spoiled by the fact that there is no table service. This in itself is not a problem except they have decided that self service (order at cashier) should also mean waiting for your drinks to be prepared (juices coffees etc) and then taking them back to your table. Again in principle no issues until you see just how long this takes. I stood in the queue to order which was only 6 people long, but it took me a full 20 minutes of standing there to get to the front. The delay of course was waiting for the server to then prepare the drinks - both cashier and drinks waiter. By the time I got to the front of the queue the special of Eggs Benedict was finished and I'd missed out.

Not my idea of a relaxing Sunday brunch! I'm never coming back!

“Lovely setting and good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2012

Casa Verde is the cheaper restaurant in the Botanic Gardens. We ate there several times while in Singapore, both for lunch and dinner. The location is lovely and of course convenient if you are in the Garden. The food is quite good--we tried both local and western food and thought it was delicious and reasonably priced (for Singapore). Dinner is full service with many options. Highly recommend as a good alternative to cheap hawker stalls and very expensive high-end restaurants.

“Nice affordable place to relax and have a cuppa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2011

Always crowded for breakfast especially during public holidays and weekends. Standard fare for breakfast menu, but good quality food for about S$13-15. Coffee is excellent though with no refill. Whether sitting outdoor or indoor, it has a really relaxing feel. Outdoors is better as one can hear the water and enjoy the lush greenery of the Gardens.
Western Breakfast comes with 2 sausages, bacons, 2 slices of bread, salad, eggs, coffee, juice. Enough to be considered a full meal. They have pizzas and pasta for lunch and dinner. Also available are some Asian fare like porridge and noodles, but considered pricey since the foodcourt is at the main entrance of the gardens.

“Standard has gone down, hopefully it was just an off day”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2011

We like Casa Verde, it is nicely situated in the Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre and the vibe is relaxed and unpretentious. It was also a place where the standard of food was pretty good - not gourmet but quite edible, so it was no surprise that we visited it again for the umpteenth time (this last visit was on 13 Nov 2011). It was a terrible shock. Other than the pizzas which remained good, the quality of the food on that day was different from what we had been used to. The portion of the vongole pasta had shrunk, and what used to be a mildly spicy dish suitable for kids had turned into something much much hotter. As for the fried rice which was invariably excellent, the version served yesterday was mushy and oily. Service was also not good, some mains arrived long after other mains had been served. Very disappointed.

“Great food, fantastic service, and beautiful setting.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2011

You would expect a visitor attraction F&B outlet to be very plain. not Casa Verde it is a gem. Very busy with not just to tourist visiting the Botanic Gardens but Locals and Expats as well. Serving local and Western breakfasts moving on to a lunch service and then an Italian style restaurant service in the evening. Out waitress Fife was so friendly and attentive and the Manager William ran the busy service like clock work. Casa Verde is a destination in its self. Don't tell everyone its already busy !
