“Great convenient connection to Changi”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013 via mobile

Family of 3 with teenage son. Stayed in July. Adequate for 1 night. Lobby a bit busy much like a 'train station' but seem to have facility for left luggage in one corner and was popular. Small room with not much space for bags (2 backpacks & 1 medium suitcase). Love the convenience of MRT connection to airport and the many food stalls around. Breakfast was included but definitely not worth the $14.00 (so we were told) that's charged. Will definitely stay again but will skip hotel breakfast and eat at stalls just outside the hotel. Value for money.

I've been to Singapore several times now and have stayed at this hotel on the last 2 occasions. It is brilliantly located on top of Lavender SMRT station making it easy to get to and from the airport no matter how much shopping you've done! It is near Little India. Don't bother getting breakfast included. It is ridiculously priced. They have a food hall, bakery, and Wendy's directly under the hotel where you can easily get a hearty meal for less then $5 (Singapore $). Hotel is efficient and helpful. Doormen are always ready with a warm hello no matter the time of day. Rooms are clean but small. Beds were nice and firm (as are most I've had in Asia). AC is a little hard, room can get very humid when you go out for the day. But that aside I definitely give this hotel the big thumbs up!

My name is Phuc, I come from Vietnam and below is my real experience:
I stayed at V hotel in April 2013, I booked 2 room for me and my family and of course the hotel took my deposit payment via my visa card. I pay the total price when checking & they promise that my deposit payment will be send back to my visa card after 2 weeks. However, at this moment, nearly 4 months, I can not receive my money although I contact the hotel many time via email and hotel phone but I still not receive the money that I pay when booking. The way the staff work is unacceptable and I don't know how can I take my money back, don't know where to report this problem.
The hotel location is convenient but rooms, public space are small, the way the staff work is terrible.
Therefore, be careful when booking this hotel.

Hi Mr Phuc,
your reservation was made through booking.com, with reservation guaranteed by your credit card. A few days before arrival, our Hotel executed a credit card authorization (not off line charge) on your card, and we only charged your card when you physically arrived at the hotel. After your earlier enquiry, we have confirmed with the bank processing our credit card transactions, that your card has only been charged once. Please do email us if you need further clarification. We regret if there is any unintended inconvenience or anxiety caused.
warmest regards

I once tried Hotel 80 group in SG, and found I was the only person not paying by the hour!
Here was better, but only slightly. I used to live very near here when I was in SG, so tried it out of curiosity. The price was ok.
Its crowded, full of Mail land Chinese tour groups, the lifts dont work properly, the breakfast is like a "staff canteen" grumpy staff. Corridors hollow and noisy as hard floors and sound travels. Chamber maids shout to each other along the corridor from early AM. Bed was uncomfortable and the room small. There are better budget hotels in Singapore! Location is ok, next to Lavender MRT and food court, but not much else there. Stay 1 stop away in Bugis Junction - Village Hotel better lah!

Room Tip: Stay in Bugis Junction not here! 1 stop on MRT

The best room will be somewhere else!
This is a hotel that books large tour groups and has essentially no amenities adequate to serve them properly. Example: there is little public space. The result? Usually 100 people in a smallish congested lobby with marble floors and a high ceiling that is so noisy your ears may bleed. I had to shout across the counter to speak to the desk clerk. Example: there are lounges for maybe 14 people at the pool despite space for many more. It does not put off people who have so many kids in it that you can't move eight feet without bumping into someone or having a kid swim up your butt. Example: dismal and wildly overpriced (14SGD) breakfast. Few choices among boring crap. No decent coffee of tea. Eat down at the MRT station or walk to nearby coffee shops for breakfast. Don't bother asking the staff - they didn't offer any useful advice.
This neighborhood has a number of small hotels that I suspect would be better. If I need to find a low-cost room again for a layover I'd choose one of these. The neighborhood has a rich restaurant scene and good nightlife. Hadji Lane is a gem.

Stayed here for 4 nights as a stopover . Rooms are small and shower is minute no power outlets in bathroom and no bedside lights but it is located above the mrt which is a plus. Room was not cleaned at all for the first night even though we advised the housekeeping 4 times!! after that little hiccup all went well.

Nice fitness centre next to the pool and breakfast area... breakfast leaves a lot to be desired I had never tasted powdered eggs until this stay I don't recommend the taste at all!! at $14aud per head one would expect something reasonable well you wont get it here!! I bought muesli from a supermarket around the corner...husband went down to Wendy's each morning for his breakfast.

Opposite the hotel is a bistro which serves a fabulous lunch and dinner....there is a lack of good eating places around the hotel. For a short stay this hotel is adequate.
