“Wish we could rate it even lower”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

We have been coming to Singapore for 18 years and this is the worst restaurant experience we have ever had...and we have had many, many meals in many different locations throughout Singapore. We made a reservation through our hotel concierge earlier that day, which the Forum did not have upon arrival. The Singapore Sling was served warm - we had to ask for ice (twice!) just to drink the S$18 drink (shouldn't a bad Sling be against the law in Singapore?). We asked to move when three diners at a table beside us (inces away) lit up cigarettes, but were told to stay where we were "as they were only having one each" - even though they told us they were normally non smoking. Peanuts in a bowl on the table at arrival were later charged at S$8. Hand wipes were charged at S$8 per person. The food was as lack lustre as the indifferent service, but unbelievably expensive by Singapore standards. The bill contained three drinks we did not order, and after a discussion with the staff we refused to pay for these. It was New Year's Eve and we had anticipated a great meal to start the evening. We were greatly disappointed as we have never felt ripped off in Singapore until now. We had visited Boat Quay years previously, and never come across bandits. Wish we had have read Trip Advisor first and stayed away! Definately would warn other visitors off this place - hit a great food court instead and eat amazing food like the locals do.

“A lovely location, food was okay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

I enjoyed the location on Boat Quay of this restaurant. The service was attentive and food quite nice. They served Chicken & Sweet Corn soup, Sweet and Sour Fish, Vegetarian Fried Rice then fruit. I would have preferred more vegetables in my meal.

“Disapointment - Beware”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012 via mobile

On holiday in Singapore, my partner and I were a little bit hungry and so we went search of some food.

When we walked past this resturant, we were approached by a pushy salesman. He directed us to the pricing list, which showed the meals and the prices in bold yellow writing, also claiming to have the cheapest prices. The prices seemed decent so we decided to sit and further review the menu and make a choice.

Upon review of the prices we realise that they were not as good as they seemed, as the prices were per 100g. For us to share a whole fish would have cost $75+, and thats not including drinks, rice, or a vegtable sider dish.

Since we were not that hungry to justify spending that amount, we selected a small serving of stirfry kailan and a small serving of seafood noodles, priced around $38 for both.

When we gave this order to the waiter, we originally asked for beef noodles as the salesman said the resturant was halal. When we confrimed this with the waiter, she said it was not halal and when we mentioned about what the salesman said, she then said it is halal. We therefore requested seafood instead.

After making this 'cheap' order, the quality of service dropped and we were treated as if we were lower class customers. Our food took a long time to come and others were served before us, then they look a long time to bill us.

The food itself was OK, but nothing better than what you could find in a cheap food court.

I highly recommend you avoid this place, people who run their resturant on deciept dont deserve our business.

“Worst restaurant in the world”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

Seafood is priced at around $20 with big signs of discount. But it turned out the price was tagged for per 100g! And the smallest crab or lobster would be more than 1.2kg! Felt completely cheated but fortunately I realized in the last minute so I didn't get a $1000 bill.

Aside from seafood, everything else was priced unreasonably high. $6 juice came with 90% ice. $30+ for a tofu dish. $25 or so for a curry chicken with practically no chicken (basically a little curry mixed with a lot of water, chicken was chopped into tiny pieces which cannot be easily seen without magnifying glasses. Service was terrible and they put 10% "service charge" in the bill. A simple meal with would cost no more than $30 in the states (with much much better food) became $80. What a terrible terrible place!

“Tourist Trap - stay away!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012 via mobile

All the comments here were confirmed 100% - should have had a look at tripadvisor before.

Low average food at absolutely rediculous prices! Restrooms are dirty and in unacceptable condition. Notice to Tourism Authorities is necessary!
