“Parc Sovereign - underwhelming”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2014

Stayed four nights in this hotel. The room was very small even compared to Japanese standards. In particular the bathroom, no curtain at the shower which wet the floor and toilet seat (don't put floor mat down until finished showering). If you want to use the toilet I suggest you take the toilet paper before you sit down otherwise you would need to be a contortionist to get access to the toilet paper dispenser. The hair dryer which I thought should have been in the bathroom was in the bedside drawer which I didn't check until a few days later (no cupboard in the bathroom). Towels were old and thin and very scratchy. Worst of all there wasn't a fridge to keep my tonic water cool. However, on the bright side the hotel is close to train station and tourist attraction at Little India, the room was clean and we enjoyed using the swimming pool and gym.

Stayed here in March 2013 on business visit. Good location, close to little India and heart of Singapore. Good choice of restaurants nearby including Indian food. The rooms are quite small and bit cramped. But clean and comfortable. Break fast at their ground floor restaurant was included and was okay (mostly chinese items). There are malls and shops close buy. Taxi can be booked from reception. Wifi was charged separately but was fast and consistent. Overall a good experience. Would like to stay again. You have to pay for anything extra including water bottles.

Stayed one night in this hotel. This place was recommended by Singaporean supplier & this was booked through agoda.
Compared to sri Lankan standards room was very small where baggage had to be opened on the bed. But room was clean and with all amenities for a short stay.
This place is closer to little india.

Room Tip: Well...you would get the view of high rise buildings if you trouble to open the window.

My wife and I have been to Singapore 5 times, always for 2 days or so stop-over. This is the first time we have stayed at this hotel, we did so because of the location, Bugis which we are familiar with, and the price (NZ$120 per night). If you are going to complain about tiny rooms either 1) toughen up 2) don't go to Singapore at all, or 3) fork out decent money for a 4star hotel.
We stayed at the Village Court Albert SQ (next to this hotel) 5 years ago, but unless you get a super last minute deal I think it is now overpriced...(but in reality all Singapore hotels are)...at least it is more than I am prepared to stay. We stayed at V Hotel Lavender couple of weeks prior (see separate review) and saved $180 by staying here this time.
Pros:
Close to many shops and market, and food courts of Bugis
1 Block to Bencoolen st for $1.20 bus (#65) to Orchard Rd
4 Blocks to Bugis MRT - if you have light luggage you can walk and catch MRT to airport for $2.40 instead of $25 for taxi
Smallish pool, good enough for an afternoon soak before dinner
Location, easy access to MRT and buses or walk
Staff are helpful and pleasant, we ordered an iron and board and it arrived in about 2 minutes. We left our luggage a few hours after checkout and new it was locked away secure and safe
Cons:
Standard rooms are small, no cupboard space but are clean and tidy (Deluxe looked ok, on the 4th floor they have sliding door to pool area)
Shower has no door so you basically shower in the bathroom, so we used a pool towel to dry the floor
Didn't use the wifi, the business centre is free for 30 mins but I couldn't open airline pages.

As you can see we are budget travellers, if you are also and don't have huge expectations I think you would be hard pressed to find better value in this in a handy location.

Only stayed for 2 nights, thank goodness. The staff were friendly and very accommodating but unfortunately that did not make up for the ridiculously small rooms. The location is not bad, but I won't be staying there again.
