Despite harvesting 2200 kilowatts of power and collecting rainwater at home, was nonetheless made to feel guilty for enjoying a hot shower here. Newspaper articles lauding the successes of various 'green' movements plaster the walls alongside the well-furnished kitchen, filtered water dispenser, and recycling bins. Make no mistake, if you like to drink, smoke, and lay waste to various pro-environmental habits, you will be noticed!

Rooms comfortable with the exception of the blankets provided; a thin tea-towel of sorts, considerably shorter than your average 6ft westerner. Otherwise, aircon and power outlets provided, in addition to the kitchen which is fully stocked to cook your own brekky. Make sure to flip the switch outside the bathroom to enable the hot water for your shower, whilst similarly paying attention to the note within stating how many liters you use over 5 minutes whilst taking said shower (you monster).

Very close to public transport options with hostel-owned EZlink cards available for daytrippers. Staff very friendly and helpful for anything you might need help finding in the urban maelstrom. Very good hawkers centre across the road for good food, also very close to a decent market and ATM.

Easy to find, clean, comfortable stay. However, there was some late sleeper that came into the room quite late at night and woke me up a little while before I fall back asleep. All in all, it was a great stay over there.

I stayed here for three nights. A really friendly, small and welcoming hostel. It's about a 15-20 min level walk to nearest MRT but there are frequent buses stopping there, with the bus stop being just a 2 min walk away. The best thing about this hostel are the staff. You really do not need to worry about researching what to do and how to get around in Singapore- they are your lonely planet and internet! They are very warm, genuine and approachable. The beds are comfortable. You have a personal light and plug and pull back curtains on the bottom bunks. The showers are great temperature and pressure. All areas are clean. Free breakfast of toast, a lovely banana, tea and coffee, which is available all day. Kindly, the staff allowed me to help myself to tea and toast later on in the evening on the day I checked out as I had a flight in the early hours. I spent my evening before my flight with them, which was better than waiting in the airport. There's no communal lounge area with TV etc but there is a communal seating area just inside the entrance as well as tables and chairs in the cozy kitchen. They are the most environmentally caring hostel I have come across, as well as caring hugely for their guests.

Perfect for a budget stay in Singapore. Dorms with 4 beds each were good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They showed us everything we asked in the map and gave tips for easy communication. Drinking water is free for guests. They let us check in early and offered to keep the bags after check out. Very customer friendly. Tea/coffee etc is available for guests all day long. I would prefer to stay there every time if I'm on tight budget. Its close to bus stand, taxi stand and Sikh temple. The lights were very dim in room, not a big deal though. Rooms were comfortable with a wall mount fan and AC. They have lots of books on places, if you have time and interest to read and look. Please carry your own towels. Really liked the Go Green concept. Save energy, water. Rooms were clean. Its not very near to any MRT (closest Outram Park).Overall for a budget hostel its 7/10.

Room Tip: The hostel isn't very close to any MRT, but a taxi trip from MRT to Hostel is just SGD 7.

We stayed here for 4 nights and wished our stay in Singapore could have last longer.
Sure, the place is a little bit out of the way coming from the airport but for this price, it's most than likely the best quality you'll find around the city. The lodge is small but very functional, rooms are basic but comfortable. Nice and clean bathrooms and kitchen. The breakfast is a nice plus (thank you for the morning banana :-) ). And the green approach is simply great and should be seen everywhere else.
But what really sets this place above the others is the amazing staff. Reception is open until 9.30pm but they offered to stay late (until 11pm) for us as our plane would only be landing around 10pm. They offered us all the necessary advice to visit the city in the best possible way - including giving transport card, tips on where to eat local food and see the city beyond what any travel guide would tell you (thanks for the tip on the traditional teahouse - we had a great time!)

Even though the place is basic (which is very fair considering the price), it was a pleasant stay mostly due to the staff like Yong who can give you excellent advice. Yong gave us the best hints for cheap, great food, and was able to direct us to the appropriate bus and MRT lines to get us to our desired destinations. We got the private double room (twin beds in bunkbed form) which was very spacious. The location was also great - close to Chinatown, and we used the bus stop closest to the hotel to get around the city.
