“Clean, convenient and fun!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2012

- Cleanliness:
The room, toilet and bathroom are always clean. clean cozy beds with the lamp in every bed. The toilet and bathroom are clean the whole period of my stay. The staffs always clean the whole area. The common area is in good order and not messy.

- Convenience:
I can walk 5 mins to MRT Lavender station on green line, and I also can walk around 7 mins to both Farrer Park Station/Boon Keng Station on the purple line. You can take MRT around 5 mins to city center. There are hawker centers, department stores and convenient stores near by.

- Fun!!!
Jonathan ad Soh-Soh are very funny staffs. Jonathan is the best Singapore guide!! David is very helpful and kind :) The cleaning staffs are very nice to me too!! There are TV (Movie area) and Xbox (Kinect) area. I also like the cheerful atmosphere here :-]

Thank you The Little Red Dot!!

Avoid This place , the only good thing is Jonathan, the rest is terrible.
I arrived on 24 afternoon, explored the city and when I came back I figured out : they don't turn on the air until 19pm, and I can tell you is extremely hot, almost impossible stay inside the room. At midnight we found lots of bed bugs that had bitten my girl, we moved out to another room and it was impossible to sleep after this. We left at 9am of the next day , I booked for 4 nights, but decided to get my money back and leave.

Bed linen, dirty and hot rooms!!! Bed bugs everywhere on the second level.

Overrated

Room Tip: Jonathan is awesome, but with the same money u can find a good backpacker without bedbugs

I really enjoyed my stay here, stopped for 3 days on the way to Australia. Jonathan was really helpful & informative and took us on a great night out. If you want an awesome night out in Singapore then Jonathan is your man! I would recommend this hostel to others.

Have been staying at the little red dot on two separate occasions now, and i had a great time throughout. The helpful staff made me feel welcome and appreciated. The facilities are good, though i have not visited other hostels in SG to have an adequate comparison. Sleep quality is somewhat diminished if you get a room facing busy Lavender Street, and the small blankets are not really helping, either :) ... Other than that, 5 mins to the next MRT and 2 mins to the awesome Lavender Food Square. 10 Minutes to the heart of Little India, a must-see for your stay in SG. Bikes are also available, sadly all of them were in urgent need of repair at the time of my arrival. If you want to have a good night out, or need advice on where to eat the best Murtabak or Chicken Rice, Johnathan is the go-to-guy.
My home in SG, i will definitely come again next year :)

Room Tip: Wifi is better if you stay downstairs. If you want a quiet night, choose a room that is not facing l...

The facilities are clean and sufficiently comfortable. I prefer the rooms on the second floor cos there are outlets everywhere and they get more light. There are computers you can use and u can also print and scan. The lightning in the rooms is not good, the bed sheets could be whiter :), and the blankets bigger and nicer. The staff are young and nice people, and Jonathan is the best. The staff will help you with everything you want to know, where the fun hangout places are, where to shop and where to get some good cheap food (the food court close by is great). It is at a convenient location close to the MRT (metro) station. It was fun meeting people from all over.

Stayed there for a bit less than two weeks, in total a great place to stay.

Rooms and bathroom are clean, and the price is very good for Singapore.
Free Wifi, Computers and Breakfast included. The AC is great so you can sleep fairly well at a hostel. Food court and Lavender MRT is very close too, and it's not far from the city.

Another extra to be mentioned is the X-Box for playing.
Jonathan, the receptionist, sleeps in the rooms too, creating more of a family atmosphere.
Staff in general is very friendly and doesn't mind helping you out with whatever you need.
The general atmosphere in the hostel is also very friendly and cozy, making you feel well.
There is also a lot of events with the staff, however I could not attend as I was busy with my own school.

Looking at what my other friends told me about hostels, this was a completely positive experience, mainly due to the helpful staff and good atmosphere in the hostel.

Will definitely come again.

Room Tip: Hard to tell, I didn't visit the other rooms. The one's upstairs are less noisy though as pe...

Stayed here one night, happy we changed to another hostel closeby. The facilities are nice but rooms are overcrowded and small. The AC was way too cold and the provided Blanket is way too small, didn't cover all body. We were woken up 4am by drunken guys trying to hit on my GF (staff is not responsible for this naturally, but still felt is was worth writing). Toilet is clean but small. For this price you can find better, yes it's Singapore but still, same money can give you a room with fewer people, better location and better breakfast.
