“Good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Good - location, free wifi, friendly and helpful staff, family room is quite spacious, suitable for a couple with 2 children.

Bad - noises from the next building (a night club) sometimes last very late at night, some ants in the room

I stayed 4 nights with my husband and our 2 sons of 12 and 13 years all. I knew that it was not a 4 star and the sizes of the room (small) but is located en Clarke Quay from where you can move to all places. It's near Chinatown, few minutes to Central Mall and if you like walking and bear the hot temperature, you can reach Marina Bay. I repeat, the room was not big but it was clean, the breakfast very good, and excellent Wifi in all the hotel, and the staff was very kind and helpful, specially, Irene. And you can seat, take a coffee (you prepare) and smoke a cigarrette with a wonderful view of Marina Bay from the roof-terrace. it seems to be expensive, but I think Singaporean hotels are all expensive (and more than Jayleen). If I return to Singapur i 'll return to Jayleen 1918.

I my wife and I enjoyed our two night stay. Room was compact, clean and quiet. Reception staff friendly and helpful - they arranged our collection from the airport (€50) and were able to take care of our luggage for a few hours when we checked out. Great location - Chinatwon and Raffles hotel both about 15 min walk away (albeit in opposite direction). Breakfast was mostly fried rice, beans and veg though there was also bread and jam plus juice and coffee. Happy to stay there in the future. Great value for money.

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights on a business tour along with family member. Overall I would rate it good considering all aspects even though some problems were noticed.

Location - located in Carpenter Street in Clarke Quay, the location is ideal for business/leisure traveler. Clarke Quay MRT is just about 300m away and a very short walk. From Clarke Quay MRT you have easy access to other areas. Chinatown is about 10 minutes of a walk.

Reception - Very helpful. Good communication. Kept our luggage safe. Nice people!

Rooms - Very small. Not big enough for 2 people. However all needed amenities were available such as hair dryer, TV, Phone, Safe. Bathroom is tiny and wash basin is located outside the bathroom close to the door. Also some construction next door was heard early in morning.

Breakfast - Had a decent buffet. Cannot complain when compared to other Singaporean hotels in same price range.

Cost - Expensive, but we compared the cost of other places which were not with good reviews and found the cost to be the norm in that area.

Conclusion - Good hotel if you are for a short visit and and for a single the room size would be fine. Will stay again definitely.

Room Tip: Top floors would be less noisy.

Great little hotel on the Clark key edhre of downtown Chinatown.
Perfectly located for all the sights and close to the MSR and bus links.
Rooms small but clean and comfy. Best of all very quiet which is important to me in a city hotel.
Breakfast first class.
Dont expect 5 star here but do look forward to value for money and the friendliest helpful service.
A great find, perfectly located, clean and quiet, very very friendly helpful staff. Will definitely use again

Very good location. Near the sites and Clarke Quay. Many food and drink options nearby, as well as nearby metro stop, making this a centrally located place stay while exploring the city.
Small, clean rooms (with lovely embroidered sheets). Helpful staff. And ok wifi.
The breakfast was included but rather dismal. And the price was a bit high but not necessarily by Singapore standards.

Situated in a ideal part of Singapore this hotel is right in the centre of Clarke Quay with all its river restaurants a MTR station at the end of the street it makes it a breeze to get around Singapore. If walking is not an issue one can walk to a lot of the tourist sites that is how central this hotel is. If you are looking for five star accommodation you better look some where else but if you want a nice clean but small room that has everything that is required you cannot go past this hotel. A free WI-FI works well in all parts of the complex a nice buffet breakfast is included in the room price. If scramble eggs is not for you the chef will cook up eggs the way you like them. But the best part about this hotel is up on the roof at night it has a million dollar view over Singapore and the lights are amazing. At around 8.00 PM there is a laser light show coming from Marine Bay Sands complex. We had five great days staying at this hotel and if you are looking for a low cost accommodation you cannot go past Jayleen 1918 Hotel

Room Tip: Ask for a room on level six
