We stayed in Singapore for 3 days (2 nights) and didn't spend much time for searching a budget double room. Hence, the Best Western seemed to be a proper choice.
However I definitely can not recommend this hotel due to the serious construction problems of the rooms:
The toilet seat is so close to the bathroom door that a normal seized European (1.8m) can NOT sit properly on the toilet with the door shut (see photo). Moreover the rooms are very noise transparent and so you can hear your neighbor talking on the phone and the fuzz at the staircase as it would happen in your room! The worst part is that after a heavy rain we had water next to our bed although the window was shut tight (photo provided).


On the bright side, the breakfast was good, the TV had several international stations and WiFi is also available at the rooms. Moreover, the location is really in a sideroad close to the center and near the Clarke Quay MRT station.

we stayed for F1 weekend. every hotels are extremely expensive so I won't comment on the price.
We stayed on 5th floor no great view but have large window so the room is not having funny smell.
The room is not large (but i think it all happen for singapore hotel) but it comfortable enough for two people and it clean. the location is perfect, food just a few steps away and MRT is just across the road. Chinatown is about 15 mins away.

the downside is that the next door can be loud at night so try to get the top floor.
service is soso.

We stayed 4 nights in the hotel. The location is really great but the hotel is just near a night club! so forget to fall asleep before 2 o'clock in the night, because there is a loud music and they close at 2...
The room was very old, small and not comfortable at all. The bathroom was tiny and the water was all over the room when you tried to take shower...
Breakfast was more or less ok, average...

This hotel is well located for looking around Singapore. Breakfast was OK. Room was small and no real view from window. Building construction at / or very nearby the hotel generated unacceptable noise levels starting early and finishing late.
Price was competitive.....so worth consideration.
