“A good base to explore Singapore from”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

This is a new, modern hotel. Like most hotels in Singapore, the rooms aren't huge, but we were in a deluxe room and we thought it was fine. Everything about the hotel was good, though we thought it was a bit pricey. Having said that, accommodation doesn't come cheap in Singapore! The hotel was clean, had all we needed, and the staff were very helpful. Threre was a good selection for breakfast, one of the best we've come across. It was well situated, close to the subway and near to large shopping malls and the waterfront. We are happy to recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: It's worth getting a tourist card for the subway.

If you want a luxury stay, then  Fullerton Bay Hotel should top your list. They have this signature scent that will greet you once you enter the high ceiling-once post office-turned luxury hotel.  We stayed in Fullerton Bay Hotel on July 24-27and again on August 16-18, 2012.  Rooms are really huge.  Our room has a balcony and has the bay view where we enjoyed the serenity of the water facing Marina Bay.  It's always great waking up having the best view of Singapore at the comfort of your room.   We also enjoyed the light shows every 8pm.  The Nespresso machine and varied coffee tablets is a plus.  The toilet and bathroom is also huge.  I love their toiletries which were from U.K.'s Molton Brown.  Staffs are very courteous. Waiters in Clifford Restaurant are commendable.  They can even remember how I want my eggs done and my orders for breakfast even after 3 weeks.  They address me by name which I find very personal.    One morning, they asked me how come my father-in-law is not with me.  When I said he preferred staying in the room, the supervisor said she'll prepare something for him and have it sent to the room.  Extra services like these are really appreciated.  When I asked how come their breakfast is always the same, they told me they can accommodate requests from the kitchen.  The next day, we had the best bah cut teah ever.  Isn't that wonderful?

Room Tip: Pay extra for a bay view room.. It's so relaxing and you can enjoy the Marina Bay at night.

We're locals and have previously paid several visits to both the Lantern and the Clifford, and liked them both a lot, come our wedding anniversary we decided to check out the FBH accomodation.

After a sharp intake of breath at the price I booked package of suite and dinner with Rolls-Royce transfers to and fro. At 3pm the immaculate seventies silver Roller pulled up at our condo for an all-too-brief glide down to the hotel, where we were met at the car and shown to our room. Then a big positive surprise: we had been upgraded to the Presidential Suite, in theory worth about 3 times what we had paid and not normally bookable online.

As we settled in, our butler served us herbal tea and cakes, and we surveyed our surroundings. The suite has a large bedroom with a balcony overlooking the water, a separate dressing room and ample bathroom with a huge jacuzzi and separate shower, and a highly complex Toto toilet. In the main living area is a huge round 8-person dining table, a sofa and table, and an area where a telescope on a large tripod is placed to allow observation of Marina Bay Sands and the rest of the view. Next to this is a screened off desk and office area, and another set of 4 chairs around a glass table in front of the TV. The main room has a total of 3 balconies, one facing MBS and two looking out towards Suntec.

Having had tea, we moved on to the champagne thoughtfully provided and settled in to watch our first movie, which we paused when dinner arrived. I have to say the food was superb: we both started with wagyu beef carpaccio with parmesan, which was one of the best starters I have tasted, followed by mushroom bisque and then sea bass. The sea bass was a little tired because it had sat in the warmer while we at the beef and soup, but altogether the meal was excellent (they even provided us with 2 more bottles of wine which we struggled to finish) and finished up with what my wife said was the best apple tart tatin ever. It's all off the Clifford menu of course, so you don't have to be in the presidential suite to try it, but my guess is it tastes better in these circumstances.

After dinner we were treated to the Marina Bay Sands light show: you get this 3 times (8, 9 and 11). We can see the lasers nightly from our apartment, but it's spectacular from the FBH where you see the smoke and fireworks and hear the music too.

In the morning I tried the gym (disappointingly small but possessed of the cardio machines I wanted to burn a few calories) and "that" pool by the Lantern: I'd walked enviously past it so many times previously that I had to do at least a few lengths.

We then ordered in-room breakfast: this was surprisingly modestly priced given how large it turned out to be: I had the full monty whilst the wife had the supposedly healthy version: again it was superb if a little large (do you really need french toast as well as egg/bacon/sausage, even if it's the best french toast?).

Sadly time rolled around to midday and we had to check out: the Roller was ready for us and we cruised back home, having had pretty much the perfect stay.

I realise this review is something of a eulogy to the FBH, and not many readers are going to be trying the presidential suite. However, what you can take away is that this is a very high-quality boutique hotel, with an excellent restaurant and a poolside terrace bar which is one of Singapore's hottest hangouts. The service was flawless: attentive but not unctuous or obtrusive, and the nice touch was everyone who served us knew it was our anniversary and did something special for us. We recommend this to any of our friends visiting Singapore if they can't or don't want to stay with us: apart from its obvious quality accomodation and food, it's also well located for the main downtown tourist sights too (MBS, the riverboats, the Singapore Flyer, the museums and boat Quay), so really, what's not to like?

Room Tip: Obviously, get one facing the bay or (if a suite) on the corners: the view is a lot better, especial...

Stayed here on a three night mini-honeymoon when my wife and I travelled back to Australia after getting married in the UK. The hotel really was fantastic, we let them know we were honeymooners and they added some nice additions as a result - champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. We had already paid up for the bay view room with a jacuzzi - the view was amazing, i'm not sure the jacuzzi was worth it, although we did use it. Breakfast buffet was also excellent and the waiting staff very attentive (far better than the standard service in Singapore). Even the smell of the hotel was good, I think you can buy bottles of the perfume they use. If we go back to Singapore we will definitely stay here! Donlt foget to check out the rooftop bar 'Lantern' either, great atmosphere and very cool bar.

Room Tip: Pay up for bay view room, you get a great view of the bay and marina bay sands.

I stayed here with a friend for 5 nights. We booked because of the I location and it had a nice rooftop swimming pool and bar.
The rooms were quite spacious and the beds are very comfortable . We booked a view over to marina bay sands so we had a nice balcony. On the whole the staff were very good but not exceptional. Two days our room was not made up and we had to request the staff come and service the room so that was disappointing.
The roof top pool proved to be a little too open and given the amount of visitors to the roof top bar (non guests) it was not very private.
We ate ate the Lantern one evening and the food was Fine. The breakfast was fine with plenty of choice and the Clifford resteraunt has a nice ambience. The Landing Point was also very pleasant especially in the evening to have a nightcap
The location of the hotel is good. Quite close to Raffles City mrt so east to get to destinations
The hotel was lovley but we would not return as we thought it a little overpriced in comparison to some of the other 5 star hotels in Singapore.
It iis near the business so if you have business in Singapore this may be the place for you. There are also some lovely resteraunts within walking distance

Room Tip: Book a room with a balcony if you want to be sure of a view.

Great location - view over the bay and 5 minute walk to the main business district. Excellent service service in a professional way without being intrusive. Lovely room and one of the best breakfast buffets. Roof top pool area has loungers immersed in shallow water around the pool area. The whole pool side then changes in the evening to one of Singapore's coolest venues. Thoroughly enjoyed being staying in this hotel.

Room Tip: Try to have a view over the bay

Wonderful rooms, friendly, polite and outstandingly efficient service. The rooms are immaculate. The rooftop pool superb. The buffet breakfast is probably the most tempting array of pastries, fruit, hot and cold dishes, cereals I have ever experienced. This truly is a special place.
