“Rundown resort with poor maintenance & services”

This resort has been around since the 80s and has since changed management many times since.

The reception staff was courteous and apologetic, but does little to explain why we have to wait for a full hour to check-in. The room upon check-in has not been cleaned from the previous tenant, and so we have to wait some more.

On the first night, I saw a mouse scurrying around in the drain.

The toilet chokes and maintenance only came after quite some time. The aircon leaks as well, and when we point that out to the maintenance guy, he told us 'oh thats because of the toilet choke...'. Such was the laxed and unhelpful attitude of the staff.

The swimming pool was dirty and generally not in good condition to swim. Swim at your own risk. For a pool with a 2.4m deep end, no lifeguard was available in case of emergency.

The price is also not cheap (about $200/night) compared to newer and better resorts such as Costa Sands and Aloha Resort.

The only redeeming factor is its ideal location at Singapore's famous East Coast beach and very near the sea.

“What can I say good about this hotel?”

The welcome from the staff on the front desk was good the location was even better and the concept excellent. Poor maintainance cleanlines and management totaly spoilt the whole experience.,after receptcion all went downhill room was not very clean facillites were either very poor or non existant the room it's self was in need of redecorating and renovating the floor tileswere lifting the bathroom did not appear to have been cleaned in weeks and was in a very poor state of repair ( we cleaned what we could but the shower/bath was unusable} we were only there for 2 days but normally the room is cleaned and the bed made up on the second day. The restaurant was closed the pool was closed and the shop was totally disorganised. They night before we left there was a large party of school children staying for one night we watched the cleaner and we saw no clean bedding go into the rooms and the cleaner was in the room less tha 10 minutes. The location was excellent but it was the dirtiest place I have seen in Singpore never again will I stay there

“nice location but poor management and cleaniness”

the hotel is located at a nice place with beach and along the road you can find a lot of nice restaurants.

the management of this hotel is very poor and i could say they are kind of incompetent. Letting us wait so long in the lobby with apparently not air conditioned pisses us off.

The beds are pretty comfortable but the room is not so clean, maybe it is near to the beach?

no electric kettle was provided. need to rent a kettle from a mini market nearby.

the room's door are not sound proof at all.. the noise from outdoor was clearly heard and very disturbing.

As for the swimming pool, it is 6ft but there's no life guard.. so it is rather dangerous to swim there if you are not so good in swimming

Definitely not recommended if you want to have a romantic stay or with infants. only recommended with friends.

“VERY TERRIBLE SERVICE AND MANAGEMENT!”

Bad bad bad experience at goldkist chalet! I had booked the chalet for a company event on 6th, 7th and 8th Nov 2011. Despite paying higher price for their so-called "newly renovated room", what I had gotten was a room which leaked water during a downpour. And so, it rained on the second night, the roof was leaking in water and so it kind of "flooded" the room. Unfortunately, my friend who had left his phone on the floor (as he was sleeping on a mattress beside it), was soaked in water. So we had asked the staff, Ajaj, who claimed he was a manager to take a look at the condition of the room as well as the phone. We had asked for a compensation and he promised us he would take care of this matter and settle it. He also told us to write a letter to the management regarding this. So we did. And received an reply for the enquiry. But there was no reply since after 2 weeks. We called and asked him but he claimed he did not receive the letter! As we had evidence that the letter was received by them, then he changed his statement that he overlooked it and said he would settle it (again). We requested he get back to us but no, he did not. And again 1 week later we called back and request to talk to the higher management, and he said he said he was the high managment already. Such irresponsible manager that I've ever met in my life. Despite promised us he would called back for times and times again, we DID NOT received a single call from him. We are the ones who always called. And when we requested for his direct line, all he told us was that he would call us, if not call the front desk number.

The reason I'm writing this review now is because we have not get any responds or compensation from him! yes, it's 2012 and it's not settled yet.

Calling out for Ajaj, the manager, can you settle this asap?!!

“Holiday-camp style - good for short term trasnsit not much else.”

Only used this as we had a midnight flight out and the current hotel couldn't help us out.

Bathroom door was jammed shut. TV did not work, So went to the nearest shopping mall.Someone did come and get the door opened but we were not to shut it again for fear of imprisonment within the bathroom.

Would not recommend this place for anything more that a transit stay. However the nighttime view of the tankers in the bay were pretty spectacular. Setting close to the beach and the jogging / cycling tracks also created a nice atmosphere outside of the camp
