“I wanted to like it, the location and ambiance were great - shame about the food!”
As mentioned, with the french flair in the decor, the promise of a nice menu and friendly Singaporean staff, the night started well. Unfortunately, the food let it down badly and I will not be back,
The cold cuts that I ordered as an entree were OK, but suspiciously similar to anything one could buy from Cold Storage and not good quality.
The main was terrible and the reason why I'm reviewing in such a negative way. We ordered Beef Bourguignon, which is listed as such on the menu, with beef fondue in brackets. What appeared was a pot to cook our own deep fried beef, raw veggies (that were stale) and sauces on the side that were shop bought and not nice (or french), sweet chilli sauce, mustard mayo, etc - couldn't have been further from what we thought we ordered. When I let the staff know this, they said 'Oh Beef Bourguignon hasn't been on the menu for ages' - not acknowledging any responsible and with little concern. We ate a little and felt ill.
Do not order this dish and I do not recommend this place at all.
