We had our breakfast at Ananda Bhavan. The indian breakfast was delicious and we really enjoyed. The price is reasonable.

“If You Have Never Tried Paal Appams - You Are Missing Out.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

This restaurant probably does a lot of good dishes, but there is only one that I have tried. I just can't go past this and I order it every time I go to Singapore. They are called Paal Appams (which translated from Tamil means milk pancakes). I love the food of many cultures but I have not tasted anything remotely like this in the food of any other culture. Thin and crispy on the outside, fluffy and fat in the middle, the dish is served with coconut milk and orange coloured sugar (see the picture below). OMG! It is an absolute delight. Down this with a teh tarik (long drawn tea) and you'll be thinking you have died and gone to foodie heaven.

I have taken several people to try this over the years and many of them have gone back on their own for more.

To get here, either take a taxi, which in Singapore is cheap as chips, or alternatively take the MRT to Little India station and walk up Buffalo Road to Serangoon Rd and it's right there.

If you want a place to fast track your lunch, breakfast and be back for work in 15 mins, I think this is the place priced rightly.

“Good South Indian Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

We enjoyed some authentic South India food here and liked the snacks as well. The place though small have dispenser for drinking water. You also can pack and bring the food to your place or order them to your place.
