Been to Esmirada a number of times mainly for the happy hour and tapas. Agree with other reviewers that service is dismal. Difficult to get the attention of the service staff. The quality of tapas is not too bad. As for the mains, we have tried the lamb shank (very tender and flavourful), bbq ribs(taste of frozen pork) and recently, we had the suckling pig, garlic bread and cheese platter. These are probably the worst choices we have made so far. While garlic bread was crispy, I could smell the fragrance of garlic but tasted only a tinge of it... My suspicion is that the garlic spread is either store bought or the garlic has been kept for so long, its lost the taste. As for the suckling pig which is the most expensive item on the menu, its a waste of money. It was oily, fatty and the skin was tough. Its probably deep fried, re-fried or placed in microwave to heat up. The cheese platter for the price is a mistake. Very small serving and the cheese didn't taste any good. So. go Esmirada just for the happy hour and perhaps a couple of tapas. That would be my advice.
