This sushi Tei outlet is one of my regular neighbourhood spots, however they wouldn't know that as the service is so impersonal that I doubt very much anyone would remember us.
The food is pretty good for a non Japanese owned sushi chain but the whole point of the conveyor belt sushi system seems to have been lost. The belt is always almost empty with some random plates going in circles and no control over how long they have been up there.
Almost everything has to be ordered off the menu, almost as if the conveyor belt is just there to display the leftovers and returned dishes.
The service is as impersonal as can be, not once has a waiter come to check if my tea needs a refill or ask if we would like to order anything... They always have to be asked, and it always takes a while to get their attention. Never a smile or polite word. it's almost like they are there against their will.
The loyalty card system is an overpriced joke and no wonder I never see anyone pulling it out at the cashier.
Yet we keep going back since its the only sushi chain outlet in the club street area... And the food is decent. But if a Sakae sushi were to open near, we'd move in a heartbeat.
In times like these, no restaurant can allow itself to take its customers for granted.
