Stayed on 1 May, check-in was smooth & the rooms are pleasant overall, beds are more firm than the others I've been too, which is good.

We had adjoining rooms at the West Wing. Parts of the room are relatively old, the TV in one of the rooms do not display clear colours. You need 1 remote for channels & another for volume. There are no removable shower heads for the bathtub or the shower room, so bathing the kids are a little more inconvenient. These are minor issues though.

The breakfast has limited selection & quality is disappointing. Server staff were shorthanded.

The plus side is the customer service is consistently good, particularly the reception. The hotel is peaceful & in a quiet corner of the island, but the beach can be accessed via a flight of boardwalk & stairs. Landscape is tranquil.

The hotel is suitable for a couple getaway. If travelling with kids, be prepared to head out for food & play.

We arrived in Singapore after a 14 day cruise and wanted somewhere that would make exploring Sentosa and parts of Singapore easy to access. We were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are lovely, with all the amenities that you need. And the bed is super comfortable with the greatest pillows ever!!
Having never been to Singapore before I was very impressed with the cleanliness on the Island and enjoyed the hospitality of the staff. If you plan on relaxing by the pool, you need to have this completed by 7pm. This is when the pool closes for the day, which was the only negative for us as a group of travellers in a hot country, we were happy to relax in the pool at the end of each day, but to be out by 7 was just a bit too early. We did get a very polite explanation as to why this was though. Given the size of the pool and the chemicals needed to keep it healthy, they had to be done by a certain time so they could work overnight.
I can not comment on the restaurants onsite as I didn't use any of them but they certainly looked nice. The gardens were lovely and the ambience very pleasant and relaxing.
In terms of access, the hotel provides a shuttle bus that runs you across to the mainland and there is a bus service around the island that has a stop at the hotel. These are all finished by 10:30 pm so after that time you need to use the taxis...which would be a whole other review!!

A good place to stay away from the busy city... Although the resort is having a renovation... There isn't any loud noise around the resort... Compliments to your front desk staff who check me in... She is very friendly and efficient... And special thanks to your bellman whom he escort me to the room and when I request a bucket of ice... He personally deliver it to me... Such a remarkable service... The room is very is very cosy just right for me and the welcome amenity is awesome... The only issue is the TV that did not have any instructions to use it... I seen the two remote controllers and have to figure on my own... But nevertheless... All is good... Thank you again The Singapore Resort and Spa Sentosa for the good stay... Will definitely come back and stay again...

We stayed at the resort on our way home to France from New Zealand. It was the perfect place to relax in between 2 very long flights. The public area is beautifully set up around a very large and beautiful pool and the food is good too - there is an excellent breakfast with great choice, very reasonable and good quality food at the pool bar and fine dining in the restaurant. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble - we particularly appreciated the early check in and late check out with no extra charge. The hotel shuttle makes access to the city simple and quick. The only real criticism is that the place whilst super clean needs renovating - and that is just what Accor is doing - I just hope the prices don't go through the roof because this will be a gem of a place for a stopover or longer stay once the renovation is complete!

The complex has recently been taken over by the Accor-Novitel group. It is hard to say whether this is a positive move. True the resort is no longer in its first flush of youth but it retains a charismatic colonial style charm. The hotel is now undergoing a 'facelift'. Plans to change the pool area look like losing all its current appeal and turning it into a glitzy cross between Disney World and Club Med. This is a shame. It currently has elegance but after the change it will be just another trendy hotel area with too much clutter. much the same goes for the plans for the main bar/hall area which will change from restrained calm to a multi coloured harlequin effect. Many visitors may like this but it lacks restrained 'class' and Novotel should be made aware of this.
The Sunday buffet is generous with oysters and champagne and the general quality is good though the presentation might be improved and it is not cheap at 70 pounds a head - double what a similar buffet might cost in the city.
The grounds are well maintained and are a great attraction with the many wandering peacock. Do not feed or they will jump on your table. There is a courtesy bus and a long ramp of steps to the sand beach, this is the less touristy end of the island and so less touristy .
The staff are exceptionally kind and helpful and put up with the endless demands of my twin girls.
The rooms are comfortable and the beds exceptionally so.

Room Tip: There are only a few rooms with twin beds. bathrooms are generous.

Booked a 2D1N stay. In the evening we went out to RWS for dinner & our return trip to the hotel is nothing short of horrendous. Took the beach tram which departed at 9.30pm from Beach Station & the driver dropped us off at Palawan-cum-The Singapore Resort and Spa Sentosa station. Tram Driver tells us to walk straight down and up the wooden staircase to return to the resort.

Upon reaching said staircase we found that it closes at 9pm. We were lost in the middle of nowhere and we called the hotel's hotline for 5 times, each call ringing more than 10times before someone picks up my call on the 6th attempt. While calling, the same beach tram went passed us on its way out & I tried to stop the bus by running and tapping on the bus window pane to seek help but the driver simply ignored us and drove off. How fantastic. Frustrating experience.

Finally a hotel staff named Dylan picks up my call at 9.50pm. Told me that he will arrange for transport to pick me up, took down my number & advised that he will call me back. Meantime I found my way back to the Palawan Beach stop to wait for bus 3, next bus arrives at 10.15pm.

Dylan called me back at 10.05pm to inform that the resort currently has no drivers available to pick me up. Wow! Such marvelous 5-star service. I'm truly impressed. You deserve a huge round of applause!

For anyone looking for a 5star worthy frustrating experience with a hotel that is SO inaccessible and limited resources? You've found it. The Singapore Resort and Spa is the one for you.

I have stayed at Amara Sentosa, W Hotel Sentosa Cove, Hard Rock RWS, Equarius RWS, Hotel Michael RWS, Movenpick Sentosa. None of which has given me such trashy service ever before.
