“Lovely hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

We had a great time in that hotel. The room was nice and confortable.
The swimmingpool and the gardens were great.
The hotel has a shuttle service to the mall so it's very convinient if you want to go shopping.

First I must admit we accidentally booked this hotel, weird I know still don't know how it happened on booking.com, we thought we had booked Shangri La where we've stayed before but somehow ended up with two nights here non refundable so we just went with it. Definitely definitely wouldn't be my first choice to stay with a toddler, shangri la has a wonderful kids pool. slide, playground, kid friendly buffet bigger rooms for running around, really family friendly, singapore resort and spa is not even close to that. So here's the pros and cons...

Pros: really enjoyed the Pavilion for happy hour and appetizers, nice atmosphere, breezy, calm, peaceful, good food, large selection and 1-1 drinks 7-9 bonus! Liked the roaming peacocks and cats...
The service was very good. Enjoyed the little treats each night but could be displayed better with a note or something, we almost missed them.
Breakfast buffet was very good, good selection, changed slightly each day
The cliff seems like a nice restaurant at night, very pricey but since we had a child, the pavilion was a better option.
The grounds are very nice, it's quiet, spa looked good again though we didn't use them.
The beach area down the hill is good for kids, we enjoyed the polw, sad that bora bora was closed at night as it's the only option within walking distance.

Cons: there are many for us...but to be fair keep in mind this is a family's perspective, compared to hard rock and shangri la where we've also stayed and were very family friendly. I can appreciate the facilities had we been a corporate traveler or a couples or girls retreat with no kids, but for families here's the drawbacks....plus the resort is in the middle of much needed renovations which didn't help.
Pool-looked pretty worn out, cracked tiles, etc. no kids area at all, nothing special about the pool or the patio, very basic.
Rooms-again pretty worn out, bathroom smelled terrible, very strong smell of urine, mold in the shower, toiletries ok, but spent as little time as possible in there, wouldn't take a bath even though it was a large tub because of the odor. The foyer seems useless, huge waste of space, the room had very little walking room, no place for a cot or anything, not space to move around, the desk took up what little space there was, view not great, windows don't open, was craving fresh air. Mini bar, glassware and tea kettle very good to have. Room needs and upgrade for sure, had to call twice to get tv fixed, two remotes, no instructions.

It's a retreat so not easily accessible, there is Bus and tram transport options but you have to time it just right, the bus 3 runs only every 35 minutes. Beach tram runs more frequently but need to get down the hill first. We ended up walking up and down the looong staircase to the beach transport, good exercise but very tiring with a stroller and toddler in tow.

Items to note: stairs to beach-not just a few like it says, about 100 steps, steep at times, not bad if you're fit but for kids and elderly, may be a problem. Free bikes, tennis courts we didn't use but nice to offer. Again though the resort is high up on a hill so walking or biking may be an issue shortest route up in the stairs.

In sum, would not recommend for families. I would however try it again AFTER the upgrades and with my husband no kids for a relaxing spa retreat. So spa looked nice but not sure as I didn't get a chance to go in.

Room Tip: Level 3 has walk out patio

We have taken our daughter, husband and grandchildren here twice.

Seated under sunshaded canopies and cooled by reciprocating fans, surrounded by specimen mature trees and water features.

A sense of timeless elegance!

The food is varied to suit all tastes. Try new things or stick to a Sunday roast. You will find many things to suit you! Especially the deserts and the free flow champagne and wine.

After coffee relax by the pool (towels are provided), enjoy the scenery of the ships coming and going.

Just stayed at the Sentosa Resort and I would advise anyone who wishes a proper Accor experience to wait until the renovation (large parts of the hotel are under boarded up) and the rest of the hotel is looking very tired particular the tiling around the pool area and the woodwork, and general decor, in the bedrooms.

Thank you for sharing with us your feedback.

The resort is currently undergoing renovations which are slated to complete by the end of 2015 and we will be presenting a revamped luxury resort experience when we rebrand to Sofitel. Meanwhile, we will continue to maintain the highest cousu-main service expected of us during this transition period.

Nice quiet hotel, needs updating now which I believe is in progress. Transport for local Sentosa Bus and Vivo shopping shuttle at the door is wonderful and really good to get around. Staff are friendly and the manager was very helpful when our room was incorrect was fixed straight away with no questions asked. The loby coffee and cheese platter is just wonderful. Great place to relax

Room Tip: any room is good as they are spread out.
