“Swimming pool is the highlight of the hotel...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

I spent 3 nights from the 31st August with the kids. Check in was very smooth, concierge is very helpful and the staff takes care of the needs very efficiently. However the bathrooms looked worn out from the furniture and the lobby is a bit shabby. The highlight of the hotel is the swimming pool. Very nice for the kids with a white sand beach area and a slide. It has a great jacuzzi and separate pool for the adults too. The location of the hotel is very convenient and just a 10 minutes walk to Universal Studios.

The restaurant could have been better with the food variety. I had requested a cake for my daughter's birthday as a surprise and they first messed up by bringing it in the room a day earlier but later brought it just on the right time during breakfast the next day. We had great fun in singapore and thus would recommend this hotel if you are not very fussy.

Room Tip: Rooms with the pool view and twin beds are good as they have a balcony

This represents a general overview of most of the hotels in Resorts World Sentosa actually except for a few exceptions.

Generally, if you are after the level of service you find in 5 star hotels in the US, UK or Australia then generally you won't find it in a 5 star establishment in Singapore. That is because for the most part, they are still learning what service is.

Pool was the highlight here with it split up between a kids artificial beach playground and water slide vs the quieter adults pool nearer the pool bar area.

The restaurant was OK. Nothing that made it stand out from other hotel restaurants. I did like the way the rooms were done up but otherwise, the service just lets the whole experience fall apart no matter how nice things are.

If you are coming to stay here because you have a family with kids, then you will be generally happy. Again, don't expect 5 star service. The level of service deviates between 3 and 4 star hotels.

One thing I notice with this particular hotel; THEY HAVE A MOSQUITO PLAGUE problem that is not in the other hotels. I have stayed in Capella, Sentosa Resort & Spa and Equarius and they do not have the level of mosquitoes that this hotel has. The bugs have even found its way living under the couches and seating around the bar area. Management really needs to manage these things as Dengue is still very possible in Singapore despite the nation having 1st class medical facilities.

As a result of the service and mosquito plague, I am going to downgrade my ratings for this hotel as a result.

Room Tip: The suites are nice.

Stayed july 10 for 4 nights in standard room. Checkin was a disaster, didn't care about my asthma condition and wanted to put me into smoking room, took forever to fix. Room size good and clean. Showers flooded. Amenities randomly replaced including bath towels. 1am morning door appearance to provide us with extra robes and towels for our child.......which we never asked for. Housekeeping Staff didn't speak much English which was hard to ask for bath towels. Pool was excellent and was the highlight, wasn't crowded. Hotel was in prime location with many restaurant choices. Heaps of attractions nearby. Disappointing that when we asked concierge where to eat Singapore food, they directed us to a Malaysian restaurant and told us it was the same thing. Din Tai Fung was fabulous, great service and food. Having told them that we had a 10 year old son with us, they mentioned that room had rollaway. However no extra bedding , sheets, pillow or anything came with the rollaway.

This hotel is far from cheap to stay at but u get nothing for the $$$ u pay, rooms are small, smelly and the bathroom was full of mold. The pool is like a maze to get into but once in the pool is lovely. Really it was ok for the two nights we stayed there but would not stay there again.

Once again I have chosen hard rock to spend my weekend. This hotel housed one of the best pool in Singapore. They have a sandy beach by the pool that looked like the real deal. The pool area is very big and great for kids to drain off some of their energy.

The hotel is clean and located just ab5 minutes walk to the main casino area. There re a number of eateries located within walking distance, from $500 a meal to $5 one at the food court.

There is a rock shop right opp the reception and also a bar area to order a nice corktail to sit the night away.

Stayed here for a night through the flash deal of 50% discount via booking on Agoda. Waited for more than 10 minutes to check in after which I was told that room wasn't ready. Front desk staff promised to give me a call once the room is ready; which they did promptly within half an hour.

Room is quite spacious. Stayed in the Deluxe King room which also includes a pull out bed. In room facilities were the standard facilities you can expect from most hotel, except they didn't have a soap in the toilet. The switches for the lights in the room were not very user friendly and 2 of the lights were faulty. In room TV had mostly Chinese channels and the reception was quite bad as the show was lagging intermittently. iPod dock in the room was average, sound quality was muffled. Housekeeping didn't bother greeting guests when I was walking along the doorway on my way to the gym.

On side note, the hotel has kids/family oriented pools and excellent gym facilities. Overall, an average hotel suitable for family with kids. Will reconsider if I have to stay here again, the price doesn't justify the service standard.
