“Noisy hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

Stayed here for 1 night

Left covered in bites from bedding .....

It's a really noisy busy hotel full of rude package tourists.

Staff are all demotivated and depressed .... Drained of all enthusiasm

Location is handy above MRT ... That's about only saving grace

Rooms are tiny but functional

We stayed in this hotel in November last year (2012) for 3 nights and 1 night in January 2013. We stayed in triple room with our 6 and 2 yrs old kids. We found the room was very small for a triple room but it was clean and the beds were comfy. The hotel is situated in good location close to Little India, MRT station is just next door but overall we found it bit costly even for Singapore as we paid AUD $180/night for the triple room. Buffet breakfast was just OK as it din't have many choices.

We arrived at the hotel not expecting much and we were mildly surprised. It is a budget hotel. Those expecting more from it would have been disappointed. Being such a hotel meant it was very busy. Regardless of this, staff were always smiling and glad to help.

The rooms were tiny, but adequate for ones needs, especially if you intend to be away most of the day. Again, I stress, it is a budget hotel. The amenities were great. But sparse. The sheets seemed they had seen their last legs years ago and the toilet was tiny.

Overall, its location was great. Being over the train station meant you could go anywhere. The main pluses are the friendliness of the staff and the basic necessities. The negatives were the constant throb of people, but this would be expected in a place like Singapore. An amusing incident was the door man texting on his mobile while opening the door. Again this had to be expected as every one seems to have their heads buried in their mobiles here.

Would I go there again. Probably not, but don't let that stop you.

We only stayed here for 1 night using it as a transit hotel before travelling onwards to Malaysia
We arrived early 7am and had requested 2 rooms on the same floor (2 months prior)
We were told that we could have (early) access to our room if we paid an extra S$30 per room
but rooms on the same floor were not available , We paid the extra for 1 room so my kids and mother in law could get some rest but by 11am my wife and I were so desperate for sleep we shelled out the other S$30 . The hotel was very busy but a rather soul less place , the pool was very small and the restaurant didnt look very inviting . The rooms were very small but clean and it served its purpose as a 1 night stopover . I wouldnt want to have stayed any longer than that ,it is not a hotel I would recommend for a family holiday . The best thing about it is probaby being so close to the MRT station .

Hotel V is a family budget hotel with excellent location to MRT station at Lavender. Easy to travel, clean & neat room, decent BUFFET for vegetarians also and good accessibility to food courts. However the room and bathroom are a bit small. Quite a busy hotel with approx 800 rooms.Staff is helpful and overall a good experiene.

The first thing you see is ALOT of crowd in the lobby. In a way, it is a good thing because the hotel is busy. Check-in is at 1400.. so if you do tend to reach early.. they ask you to pay some amount to get your room instantly.

LOCATION :
Very good.. as it has a lot of food joints around the area if you do get hungry, as the hotel only provides you complimentary breakfast (which is awesome by the way... very filling and a good choice for vegetarians as well as meat eaters).
Apart from this, if you do need to travel, the MRT (train service station) is just below the hotel.. so easy connectivity.

STAFF :
Very courteous and helpful. Prompt service and attention to guests needs.

NOTE :
The hotel does not provide free Wi-Fi. You can purchase vouchers at the reception.
Lifts take a lot of time to come... and even if it does stop on your floor.. chances are that its going to be full.. so WAIT YOUR TURN... that's what got me through.

HOUSEKEEPING : veryyyy good... !!! sheets were changed everyday and so were the towels and toiletries.

There is a tour guide who sits in the lobby who can assist you with your travel requirements.

For the health watchers.. there is a pool and a gym as well.

All in all a good experience.. !!

Room Tip: The air conditioning in all the rooms is EXCELLENT so be wary when you change the temperature.

A family budget hotel with excellent location to MRT station at Lavender. Easy to travel, clean & neat room, excellent service assistance, easy to find food & sufficient space for 2 persons. Worth the price for hotel in Singapore.

Room Tip: Book early as this is a very favourite family budget hotel in Singapore, especially for Indonesians.
