Planning a trip to the Philippines I wanted more than just staying in the typical high rise hotel for my exotic vacation. I have had enough stays at Hiltons and other look a like hotels in my career as a flight attendant. For this trip I wanted peace, tranquility, and friendliness where I would be spending my two weeks, with the ability to seek out adventure and discover the local culture when I desired. All of these requirements and more where met by Alta and it's staff. Alta is a garden oasis that is set apart from the normal high energy of activity found in the cities of the Philippines, and when I wanted to venture out a shuttle was available to me. The food at the resort was very good, and if I wanted to try some of the local favorites the staff had their ideas for me to consider. I recommend Alta to anyone that wants to experience the Philippines at their best.

If you are a tourist who likes to be around other tourists, and wants to be right in the thick of things, then this is not the place for you. This is a very relaxing, tranquil getaway for those who really want and need a vacation. This resort is tucked away from all the vendors and tourist traps. The staff here is exceptional. We were treated like family.
For the Philippines, this is a four star resort. If you are expecting a four star resort from Beverly Hills, you are not going to find it anywhere here. For the value, this resort was perfect. We also had our engagement party catered here. The food was good, the staff was great and room was perfect for our needs. If you are traveling to Cebu, then this is the place to be.

I stayed for the second time at ALTA in March 2009 because my previous experience was so memorable that I could not go back to Cebu and stay anywhere else. I chose ALTA for its warm and welcoming atmosphere and the for staff that treat me as though I was one of their family. Generally they will go out of their way to make sure that you are comfortable and well accomodated and they do all they can to make the stay at ALTA as they advertise - "MEMORABLE". I travelled on my own and I found the room more than comfortable and everything worked fine. Hot water was readily available and fresh towels and room cleaned without fail. The meals in the restaurant were served with Professionalism and were of the finest quality and size that I have come to expect from ALTA. Most if not all of the staff were smiling and always greeted me with a big hello Sir Steve. Taxis were not a problem if not wanting to use the Shuttle service. Once called they arrived very quickly and generally were easy to negotiate a price with, or the Resort would kindly have a word to the Driver to put my mind at rest. The owner is always willing to have a chat with the guests and has an open ear to any suggestions or concerns and is always polite and non offended by any slight concerns i may have had. He always took it on board and stated he would consider all comments. In Closing I have always found ALTA to be a warm accomodating resort that prides itself on making my stay extremly comfortable an welcoming, thats why I will stay there again when I go back to Cebu.

Alta Cebu resort is for those who want to be distracted from their busy city life & urban society & get in some calm & beautiful atmosphere.. My boyfriend & I were looking for such place. Alta Cebu is not just a peacuful place, it also has a family like flavour. The staff is very friendly & ready to help at any time. We enjoyed our breakfast & supper in the open air, a good swimmimg pool, hammocks and a very comfortable & big bed!
Alta is full of plants, really marvelous!
Massage was always available & fabulous..
The weather was fine during the stay.
The hotel is not luxurious but for not very big sum you get a good comfort.
My boyfriend & I are intending to see a lot of places in the world. We need not just relax and rest, we also want to know the specific of life of every country of our visit. Here we did it: as we went out of Alta we met locals who were very friendly. We had opportunity to live a little bit of Philippines life!
