“Good Location”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

I stayed in the hotel for a festival.
I felt a strong stress.
low quality - low service level.
There are no face towel and a toothbrush.
Many insects come out into the room.
Wifi connection is bad sometimes.
Noisy AC made it hard to sleep sometimes.
The room was old, dated and in poor repair.
Bed sheets and towels must have been in use for decades.
The bed mattress was filthy dirty and had old stained linen and blanket covers.
In addition, the water pressure of a shower is very weak.
The water of a toilet does not flow .
Although I asked clean up the room to receptionist in the morning but when I came back, it was not clean up.
While I was taking a nap, the cleaning staff knocked at my door for making up room.
There are many other hotels in Cebu.
I do not recommend you this hotel.
In the hotel of that condition,
if it is a cheaper price, I think, it will seem that it is appropriate.

I paid 1700p a night for a small windowless room on the second floor. The TV is good. The WIFI is a bit slow, but functional. The shower has hot water at times, but when everyone is using the the hot water, it may just be warm. The air conditioner is fine. There is a nice refrigerator. The room was clean and the staff is friendly, warm and responsive to any problems. There is a simple breakfast included (mine was an egg, two pieces of toast, coffee and a bite or two of vegetables, which is enough). There were lots of Filippino families staying there. The location is about a fifteen minute walk from Ayala, and maybe thirty minutes from Robinsons. The neighborhood is poor, but I saw no beggars around and never felt uncomfortable. Taxi's are readily available. I found this to be a very nice alternative to higher priced hotels just a few minutes closer to Ayala. I stayed there for eight days and would happily do so again. A really decent budget alternative. As a vegetarian, the restaurant was not great, but there are lots of alternatives nearby.

Room Tip: Rooms on the lower floors are quieter.

This hotel is right in the center of Cebu. It's a bit old fashioned and would probably need some refreshing, but the rooms are big and normally they offer a special price (don't choose the cheapest rooms, though). Ok for a stopover.

Room Tip: The cheapest rooms are also the oldest!

The prize was not worthy.
Room was smelly.
They only give one bath towel. No hand and face towel. They prize you 1500 pesos.
Wifi connection bad.
They over charge you with laundry service.
Not enough light in the room.
They have small fridge in the room but not working.

This hotel offers cheap accommodation. It also means that do not expect high quality.

In general, the staff was friendly and accommodating. This both reception, room service, restaurant, security guards etc.
Particularly should be mentioned a young female receptionist who often had the afternoon and evening shift. She was very proactive and accommodating to requests and follow-up. For example. after ordered room service we were given feedback about the expected delivery time, if there was a delay in delivery. We saw her as a great asset to the hotel.

On arrival we chose a superior room. But after a chat with other hotel guests, we changed to a standard room. Simply because standard room was larger and better equipped than the Superior room. Superior room was newly renovated and equipped with a flat screen. Our assessment was that the difference was not large enough to pay extra for a superior room. Unfortunately, we then had a room with a rather noisy aircon system.

Breakfast was included but of poor quality and size. It consisted of a cup of coffee, a glass of juice, one egg and three toast. It is surprising to me that it should be so bad and uninspiring instead of making a breakfast buffet with a greater variety - which will give happy customers who get a good start to their day.

Really is a hit or miss, depending on what kind of room you get. My suggestion is to ask for a renovated room upon check in. Staffs here are usually accomodating and friendly and will bend over backwards to accomodate your needs. Albeit its one of the older hotels in cebu, they are in the process of renovating all rooms as well as the restaurant. Cheap rates and accomodating staffs. Will stay here again due to friendly and personal service.

5-10 minute walk to ayala mall.

Room Tip: Ask for renovated rooms upon check in. Truly night and day compared to their old rooms

Rooms from the 10th floor have a great view, quiet lobby and on a sidestreet. Stayed one night, came back a month later and staff remembered me and gave a free room upgrade. Some rooms at the richmond are condos with full time tenants so the hotel tends to be extra quiet.

Sheets and mattress and towels were all clean, flat screen tv with cable, quiet aircon. Room service was ok, but i only ate there once because ayala is just across the street.
