“Best restuarant that we found on Boracay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

Only problem here is that this place is very popular. The squid in the buffet was hardly recognisable as the rubbery little creature that it can be. It simply melted in the mouth. I hate to give this place a rave revue as it won't help to keep my little gem a secret, but credit where credit is due! If only more Filipinos understood tourism like this proprietor obviously does, the Philippine economy would be in a far better state. It will be the first place I eat on my next visit to Boracay.

Thank you very much for your compliments regarding our restaurant and the quality of food we are serving. We must admit that our popularity rating has been going up in the last few years and we are striving to expand our premises to accommodate more guests. We recently opened a new bodega ( cellar ) area which is now open for guests to use. Please let us know when you wish to visit next, we would be happy to accommodate you for a reservation once more.

“Authentic Spanish Paella, a truly warm host, an amazing experience indeed. Expensive? yes. Worth it? You bet.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

It was our last night, and after a full day of cramming as much activities as we could, we were definitely spent. But I had made plans to visit Dos Mestizos, mainly because of the reviews I read. My wife and I got up, and went to Station 2, and dined at this amazing place. We were extremely dead tired and we just wanted to try the Paella which was fabulous by the way. So what made this place more memorable than all the places on the Island? As we were leaving, a downpour began to set. W went out of the restaurant and waited by the shed. We were staying at the nearby La Carmela, and close as it was, we were going to be drenched by the time we reach the hotel. It was at this time that a kindly gentleman went out, carrying an umbrella. With a jovial smile and a rainy day joke I didn’t understand, he set us off. I returned the umbrella the following morning. Who was the man who so graciously lent his umbrella to a couple of tourists he may never see again? No other than the owner himself.

“finally a real restaurant on the island”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

The ambition too often in this part of the world is to put a million dishes on the menu but nothing really to come back for. I always come back to this place because of its great cinnamon rolls (would prey though they could make them with half the sugar), nice and small collection of freshly baked whole grain breads, its yummy buffet on weekends and their paella a la carte. I actually find the selection of dishes in their weekend buffet much more proof of creativity than the ---always the same and boring---shang buffet, for half the price. Less is definitely more here. Worth a stroll to station 3

“What a find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

We wandered by this restaurant on our way back from the other side of Boracay. We thought it looked interesting and made a mental note of where it was. It's off the beaten path on a connecting road between the beach and the main drag. When we arrived we found out it was more than another Boracay restaurant. It could have been anywhere in the world. We started with the sangria which was fabulous. The menu consists of a tapas menu and a full dinner menu. We all opted for the tapas buffet once we had taken a look. From very tender beef, pulpo to die for, shrimp in a nice butter and garlic to a potato egg mixture they called a tortilla, and on and on. This restaurant was spot on. On the way to a comfort stop you can see the magazines and reviews of this fantastic place. The staff was attentive and the ambiance was very nice. Familes with small children seemed a bit out of place but you are in the tropics and a vacation spot. Everyone was treated well. This place is a must because it is so out of the ordinary for anywhere much less a beach in the tropics!!!!!
