“Villa Sunset, a hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

Glad i found this place, in the past i have always stayed on the beach front, but this place beats them all, near enough to the beach but far enough away from the noise, hussel & bussel, a great place to relax, unwind and enjoy some me time.
The staff really do go the extra mile to ensure their guests are well looked after, my thanks to Fedex!, Mark, Mercy, Lyn and for supplying the hot water for my "Kopiko"

This place is fine for budget stay at Boracay, 100 metres from Boat Station 2, close to Nigi Nigi Noo Noos.

Only 8 rooms and small pool and bar, perfect for families. Some rooms have small kitchenette.

Rooms are mostly good, nice beds and balcony, but our first room had a rattling air conditioner, and the maid must be small because upper shelves in kitchenette were dirty

We booked this hotel because the reviews weren't bad. We spent three weeks in the Philippines so we were looking for a clean room, convenient location and reasonable rate. Since we were there over New Years, what was available was limited.
Sunset Villa has a good location as it's in the middle of the beach zone 2 but about 100 meters back form the beach in an ally.
When you first arrive from the ferry you get dropped off on the main street and pointed across a muddy, dirty empty lot and you make your way down a narrow ally. O.K if your backpacking, but difficult with luggage.
The room rate was was high for what it offered, as it was peak season.....
I wound not even think of getting in the little pool!
The staff were friendly but neglected to clean our room daily. They were very helpful when we had to make phone calls to rearrange air flights.

Room Tip: Upstairs looking down over the pool was the best room.

We were a group of 8 when we stayed last November 12-15, 2012. We took the Family Apartment type w/c was good for 6 and we just requested to have additional mattresses. When we saw it online, we thought it was just a "so so" villa type in Boracay...But when we actually checked in, it totally blew us out...the whole place is very spacious, the bath rooms were properly cleaned, the a/c is centralized, the staff were all nice and most of all very affordable. Not to mention the kitchenette works fine with complete utensils. We'll definitely go back and recommend this Villa resort especially to big groups/family. THUMBS UP to the owner!!!

Room Tip: Stayed at Family Apartment Villa #8.

My family and I stayed here 3x over the past 4 years. We loved the privacy of the place. Kids loved the pool. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The villa is not beachfront but only a few steps from the beach. We did not mind this as it can be busy on the beach. Boracay has one of the best beaches we've ever seen. You can walk for miles! People selling tours or inviting to view new properties can be annoying at times especially when you have kids in tow. We just learned to avoid them and it was okay.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

We recently stayed at Villa Sunset with a family of 27. We booked 6 out of the 8 rooms. What a nice surprise. It was like we "owned" the place. No noise or harrassment from the beach-people. Very secured with a gate. Only a few minutes walk to the beach. And very protected from the wind and/or rain that might happen.

Some people prefer to stay in a resort "beachfront". Give me a break. None of the resorts in Station 2 are beachfront. ALL of them have a restaurant in front, and it will take you the same time walking from your "beachfront" hotelroom to the beach as walking from Villa Sunset to the beach.

The family rooms are perfect for family outings. Two floors with a master bedroom and bathroom with all amenities (shampoo, soaps, hot and cold water, .). A fully equipped kitchen with ref. A spacious living room and balcony, and a loft with two large sides, each with a double bed.

If you come with a group, you will feel you own the place. Nice Pool, Nice staff who will even cook your barbecue if you buy the food at the market. (charge for cook, grill and choarcoal is only P250)

Nothing wrong at Villa Sunset. Perfect place for families.

Great location in Station 2 - a 2 minute walk from the beach which is a bonus if you don't want to listen to partying all night long. The large room had great decor and was so clean. They even give you toilet paper, soap and shampoo which isn't always the case in the PI. The staff was super nice and the price was great. Insiders tip: They will arrange transportation from the airport but they are charging too much, we just figured it out on our own (not difficult) and 2 of us went round trip for less than they were wanting to charge for one person one way.
