“One of the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

My friends and I checked in to this hotel for 2 nights and I cannot help but give positive feedback to this hotel.

First, the check-in is a breeze. We arrived earlier than their standard check-in time but we were accommodated immediately. we just need to wait for a short period of time while waiting for the rooms to be prepared.

There was this woman in the reception area named Belinda and she is very very very courteous and friendly. Whenever she sees us in the pool, or in the dining area, she never fails to give a smile.

In addition to their very friend staff, I also love their facilities specially their pool which is open until late hours. You can also drink your beer and eat the peanuts near the pool.

The rooms are very spacious and has good nice view of their lawn/pool area.

Overall, this is a very very very good place to stay I really want to commend their staff for giving a feeling that you are well taken care of.

I recently got married in Boracay, and the resort of our wedding was too expensive for most guests. So based on TripAdvisor reviews, we selected this hotel for a group booking of most of our guests (approximately 20 people). Coordinating with the main Manila booking office over email was pretty smooth. We were able to get room reservations setup and paid for individually by the guests. However, once we got to the hotel, the front desk is extremely chaotic and disorganized. I had instructed the Manila office multiple times that the airport transfers are to be paid for by the individual guests, and they had confirmed and noted this each time. However, at the end of the trip after several guests have departed already, the front desk realized they didn't charge the individual guests, so they ended up tacking it onto my bill. It was a very upsetting end to a great happy occasion in Boracay.

On other areas, the service of the hotel is spotty. It depends on who you get. When we arrived to check in, the hotel staff just stared at us and 5 mins later asked us to have a seat while they process the check in. Then, we were provided welcome drinks. One particular restaurant staff member (Jeffer) was the most attentive. He came to clear out plates frequently and ask if we wanted coffee. Also, the breakfast buffet was pretty good and had a large selection of items.

Location wise, it's not the best. It's about 7 mins walk to the beach and 15 mins to D'Mall.
The rooms were ok. They were clean, but we did notice bugs.

Overall, we would not stay here again.

We went here last year and booked the dorm room.
The hotel itself was very nice.
The grounds were landscaped and beautifully designed.
There was also a pool which was sufficient for a few people but would be small for a crowd.
Swimming late at night was prohibited probably to avoid the noise.

The room was superb.
It was really big and our single beds looked more like a 1&1/2.
There was even a small area inside the room where you can lounge while watching their big LCD TV.
The bathroom was very spacious and the facilities were modern and worked nicely.
No noise from the street either even if it's on the main road.

The buffet breakfast was scrumptious.
You have a wide variety to choose from which ranged from local delicacies to pastas and cereals.

The only downside to this hotel would be the price and its location.
It's found in the main road and would require around a 5 minute walk to the beach.
Unfortunately, the part of the beach you'll reach after the walk is in the near-center of station 2.
You'll have to walk more if you want access to a better beach.
They have a side entrance to the alley going to the beach, unfortunately they only allow their personnel to use it.

Room Tip: Request for the room with a garden view

We stayed here last February 24-26. We were amazed by the place. The ambiance is really nice. The landscaping is good. The plants are great. I love the pool. The location is a plus, located along the main road, only 3 minuted walk to the white beach and 5-10 minutes walk to d*talipapa.

The resort staffs are nice, even the trainees. They are very attentive with our needs.

The food in the restaurant were delicious and reasonably priced. We ate our lunch there and we spent only a little over Php 1,000.00 or around USD 25.00. Did I say that we are in a group of five?

First thing that I've notice when I arrived at tropics is their exceptional staffs, I was so tire when I got to the hotel from the energy draining travel I made from Clark to Kalibo and from Kalibo to Island of Boracay, the and crew immediately accommodated us with refreshing drinks & smile on their faces and ask if we have a reservation (fortunately we do have) and right away issued the key and led us to our room, one of their staffs is kind enough to carry our luggage as we went up stairs to our room, the room it self made us more relax and comfortable with the place, complimented by the great ambience which surrounds the whole hotel, never felt more at home in such a luxurious place. We also got the chance to taste their scrumptious food which is perfect to complete the whole experience.

Even if you are alone, with family or your friends, I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Boracay, couple of nights are not enough if your staying in such a place, trust me!

Perfect food, exceptional service and a great ambience, the trifecta of your best get away.

We stayed here for 4 days/ 3 nights, Feb.27- Mar.2, 2013. We've managed to do direct booking from their office here in Manila since we've already purchased tickets going to and from Boracay. Aside from our stay, we also availed of their Transfer service since we would be arriving in Kalibo airport around 7pm. When we landed at Kalibo, we just approached the booth that they've said for our transfer, and then we headed to a bus waiting outside the airport. Then when we arrived at Caticlan Jetty port, a man (we forgot his name, sorry.) assisted us and stayed with us from getting the ticket, up to riding the boat going to the island.. To cut it short, our transfer was really at ease. Even our transfer going back to Kalibo from the island went very smooth. Our guide never left us behind. For the first time, I've never been stressed out while travelling. When we arrived at the hotel, we had our welcome drinks too. For the room, it really is a cozy place.. very clean and well maintained with complete amenities like cable tv, fridge, safety deposit box, and of course, hot and cold shower. Our room also has a balcony wherein we could see the pool/garden area. If you want a beachfront hotel, this isn't the place for you. But if you want a quiet environment away from noisy sounds of the island's nightlife, then you've picked the right place. This hotel is just few meters away from the beach, a police station, and D' Mall.. good for us 'coz we want to enjoy and be relaxed on our stay in the island. The buffet breakfast was quite good too. But the best treasure of this hotel is the PEOPLE behind it. Everybody is very helpful and courteous. And if ever we're about to go back to this island, Best Western Boracay Tropics will still be our choice.
Thanks to Ms. Melanie Lim for helping us. :) 'Till next time!

We were looking frantically for a hotel and were glad that this was recommended to us. We did not have so much choice as for the room, so we got the dorm room looking over the building site next to the hotel. The construction never bothered us except for the not so picture perfect view.

The breakfast was, as been described before, hit-miss, but good enough to enjoy something every morning.

The staff was very attentive and never missed a step. They were also superfriendly to our children, and went out of their way for us to enjoy a vacation. When ordering by the pool they were very efficient and helpful to set up chairs etc.
The check-in and checkout were both efficient.

The pool is rather small but big enough for kids to enjoy, but maybe not for excersice.

The hotel is located next to the main road, but only a three-four minute walk to the White Beach.

I would recommend this hotel unless one wants to sit just next to White Beach.
