“Great Friendly Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2010

After staying in the ludicrously overpriced Red Coconuts resort, we moved 50 yards backwards to stay at the Seabird International. We were immediately impressed by the friendliness of the welcome from the staff. Rooms were clean and tidy, breakfast was good and overall the place was great value for money.

When we came to Caticlan boat station, we were really unprepared due to the lack of time but the people in the station helped us where to go. One tourist helper brought us to several resorts but it's a little costly considering that we will be staying at Boracay for 4 nights and 5 days so he referred Seabird resort. From the other resorts that we went to, Seabird has the lowest cost with nice service. The room was clean with hot & cold shower, cleaning can be requested everyday, security is also OK since nobody can just go inside the resort compound and we lost nothing when we left our valuable things inside the room. Breakfast is also included from the rent and we were surprised that they are serving nice breakfast too. The place was located at Station 2 in the beachfront near D' Mall and other bars, walkable to anywhere we want to. Staffs working are very friendly and approachable so we were never hesitant to ask any help from them.

Overall, our vacation was superb!

Thank you guys for treating us with value and security.

God Bless you all!

we went to boracay last june of 2010 to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. we plan to stay for a week on either station 1 or 2 so in order to make the most of our budget, as we also wanted to try every outdoor/water sports there, plus we also plan to do a lot of eating and shopping, we looked through the hotels there that could give us the best deal - and we found seabird international resort. actually we found another hotel that is slightly cheaper than seabird but what sold us - is the free wireless high speed internet. it was perfect as we needed high speed internet on our room so we could still check our businesses even on our vacation (sucks but we have to keep watch on whats going on) and nobody else but seabird offered that. other hotels only had connection at the lobby, restaurant, or if there's some in the room its not high speed. so if you're like us, you're in bora, and you needed high speed connections for video conferences, large file transfers, and need to be online 24/7, this is the perfect place for you.

now back to the vacation part. as much as i wanted to stay at a beachfront hotel, seabird is not located at the beachfront. but its location is perfect for our taste. just a few seconds walk to the beach, and its located smack right at the middle of station 1 and 2 so we get the best of both worlds. awesome beach of station 1 to the right, and the nightlife/shopping district of station 2 to the left. 2 minutes walk on the opposite side of the walkway and you're in the main highway. where you can ride the tricycle to go for some water sports at the other side of the island, or go to the d'talipapa for some great buffets/shopping. we could have stayed at station 1 with the best beach, but that would require us to ride tricycles to eat at d'talipapa or have a blast at station 2's nightlife (which would suck if you get drunk and would need to ride off just to get back to your hotel). at seabird, we just walked our way through the island.

free use of safety deposit box. now this is an awesome freebie for both me and my wife. since our room is located at the second floor at the rear part of the resort, my wife can shop anytime and leave it in the box and continue enjoying the super nice beach and just pick it up when we return to slumber in our room. i also do a lot of photography while in vacation so i just leave my camera there, and went on and resume with my swimming and/or just hanging around the beach bed. free daily breakfast was also offered which was awesome. 2 minutes walk to station 2 and you're at d'mall for some more shopping/eating and 2 minutes walk to station 1 and you're at starbucks. awesome.

the rooms and the resort in general are clean and housekeeping services are always available, just a call away. and all the staff are super friendly and always visible, so if you need anything, you can always ask. beds and sheets are always clean and fresh we slept well through our stay which was great. every room has cable tv and hot and cold showers as well. i have 3 issues for this resort though

1. the breakfast is always great but the mosquitos at the restaurant aren't. i understand that its the beach and theres water almost everywhere, but those things just annoyed me.
2. check the showers. ours stopped working on our 3rd day. im sure they could have us transferred but we opted to stay, as that particular room gave the best bandwidth of internet (which was very important to us).
3. there's something wrong with the layout of the room. the aircondition was placed in such a way that it doesn't cool the entire room. and this is not good on hot summer days. the part of our bed where our heads lie has higher temps than on our feet. i pretty much ignored it coz either we're too tired or too drunk to be bothered with it, but things started to suck on our 4th day. tired slightly wet feet+cool temps=nasty cramps. good thing is that the resort is just 3 minutes walk to the nearest reflex spot so that fixed me

most of these are not really issues, some part if it are really our fault for not asking for a transfer but 95% of our time are spent on the beach or outdoors so we didn't really bother asking. so i suggest you feel the room first and don't hesitate to ask as i've said the staff are so friendly. but of course it would have been super awesome if all the room's showers are fixed and rooms and aircondition are laid out properly, right? except for the damn mosquitos. they should do something about that.

over all our stay at seabird international resort was great. awesome bed and boarding, awesome breakfast and over all a nice place to return to slumber and rest at the end of the day when we are finally tired of swimming, jet skiing, snorkling, shopping, getting drunk wasted or whatever else. and the high speed internet is so awesome, we didn't miss a day at work even though we were away on vacation.

probably the best thing ever at seabird is the discount for week long stays (everybody loves discounts) and they gave us the best deal, best location, and the amenities we need for our stay. after all, who needs a 5-star super pimped out hotel if 95%-99% of your time is spent out doors right? so you might as well stay at seabird and spend the rest of your wallet on things that matter like jet skiing, starbucks, or a 24/7 lobster buffet (lobsters are so awesome)

I attended Seabird in July 2010. It was recommended to me by a local who lives/works on the island of Boracay. I am a recent graduate and was traveling on a budget with a family member.

Resort: Simple, affordable, reasonably priced.
- come here if you want to save your money for activities, restaurants, and nightlife while in Boracay
- Seabird provides a simple, clean, and comfortable place to sleep and rest from a busy day of activities
- room with 2 double beds (two travelers) for 1980 PHP per night, cable TV and mini-fridge
- wifi access in each room, easy to stay connected with friends and family via email, facebook, and skype
- only annoyance was that there were lots of mosquitoes in the room unfortunately, not sure how they got in there

Location: Station 2 in the centre of the action, steps from the beach, but effectively positioned away from loud noise and pedestrian traffic
- bank, grocery store, D'mall, and other amenities easily accessible
- safe and secure even after walking back late at night from the bars

Food: good breakfast to start the day
- choice of north american or filipino breakfast included in price of room, nothing fancy but satisfying enough
- did not eat lunch or dinner there

Staff: friendly, helpful, and accommodating people
- the people who work there were always very friendly and eager to offer help and answer questions

I would suggest this place to my friends and family who want a simple and affordable place to stay in an excellent location.
