“How is this not 5 stars?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014

Yes White Beach is the tiniest bit overrated, and yes there are the hagglers every 5 metres, but you won't care when you're watching the most beautiful sunset in the world downing a $1 San Miguel, with your feet sinking in the finest whitest sand you've ever experienced (the texture is comparable to flour). You can come to Boracay to relax, you can come to party, or a bit of both. A really special place.

“vibrant and beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2014

This long stretch beach will never fail to entertain you. No matter what time of the day. You name it and you ll find it. Food, drinks, sun bathing, water activities, massages, braids, live music, fire acrobats, hooks, lounges , resorts, pools, buffets, souvenir shops there is even a small ferrous wheel in d'mall. When buy souvenirs and things, or get braids done or booking for water activities the key is to haggle! The massages can be done for as cheap as 300 pesos on the beach to 3000+ pesos in proper spas. The 300 pesos is a standard rate in all beach massage places for 1 hr. They are pretty good and the ladies are really polite and sweet. Youll fine all types cuisines but seafood is must try. Also at some places you can pick you raw seafood and get it cooked in front of you. There are the cheap massive buffets and good expensive food too. take you pick. But don't forget boca juice ( coconut water)- prices can vary. And they even have boca shake( this was new to me)- I wasn't a fan, too much sugar

“Seriously overrated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2014 via mobile

This beach may have once been a paradise but now it's terribly overcrowded and littered with touts, bed restaurants, and a not so clean sea.

To be fair, there is hardly any litter to be seen on the beach and the water itself, but such overpopulation of tourists can tax the stretch too much. The water isn't so clear, the algae (rumored to be seasonal) covers the shoreline and stinks, and the restaurants are bad.

In short, there are easily much better beaches elsewhere that doesn't even have half the hype.

“Water is crystal clear!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2014

We stayed in Station 2 for 4 nights and hanged out in Station 3 for the beach and sun!

Pros: Crystal clear water and white sand!
Beautiful weather
Inexpensive food/drinks
Friendly locals

Cons: Green algae/ seaweed (?) lined the beach
Vendors are constantly selling boat rides/ massages - even if you are sun bathing or enjoying a quiet breakfast.
