“Nice stay on the White Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2014

Boracay White Beach itself belongs to the top 10 in the world and this hotel did not spoil good memories about this nature wonder. Great location in the centre of some kilometers of white sand. As first days of June means that high season will end soon, there were not much foreign tourists, most of sun chairs were not used. La Reserve hotel offers bungalows, interesting, rooms have names, not numbers. We used Perrier Jouet room. It was clean, only bad thing was, air conditioner made so loud noise, like small tractor motor. Ear plugs were necessary to use. Breakfast and dinner were tasty, service good.

If you want a change from the motel type room accommodation, try La Reserve in Boracay. Bungalow type rooms set in well kept gardens and sand paths. The rooms themselves are reasonably maintained with comfortable beds, good linen, fridge etc. WiFi is also good. The front of the hotel with its open air bar is not all that appealing as some other places are. Prices per room are expensive for what you get but hey, isn't everything a little expensive in Boracay - demand and popularity of the island commands higher prices. Staff seem friendly and willing to help. If you want laundry done, find an outside laundry as 70 pesos to wash your shirt seemed a little rich. Breakfast is included and is adequate with its limited selection. The bungalows are well protected if the wind is blowing so you can sit on your balcony and enjoying a cooling ale.

Room Tip: I ticked pool and fitness centre but they don't have either. Te bungalows are near a main walkwa...

This is a late review i stayed there with a friend in june 2011.
We were supposed to stay at the Red Coconut Resort for 3 nights which is the next hotel down from La Reserve, due to us mucking around in Manila we didnt get there till two days late.
We stayed at Red coconut for one night and tryed to book another two but they were fully booked.
The guide who we were with from the airport(Caticlan) took us to the next one closest La Reserve. Rooms are average with bed on bottom floor ,bathroom, a/c and a bed up a little steep stairs in the attic. I like the gardens and dirt pathways around the rooms makes it feel tradional. Its not too bad but not great, your pretty much paying for the location.

We stood their for eight days and our room (bungalow) witch was not that bad as some princessbi.... discribe here! The bungalow got cleaned every day also the beds were made up every day! I had the phillipino breakfast every day with good italian coffee (lavazza) and a juice made off fresh fruits behind us in the bar. Mangos Calamanzis Kokonuts Oranges Litshees, just brilliant!
Fresh towells for free during the whole day! Perfect service at the beachfront: shakes for 90Pesos coktails for 190 Pesos .......
The location is exactly in the middle of white beach!

I was happy to stay there

Room Tip: talk to the receptionists. you allways get it cheaper as they first offer!

The good points.. nice room clean and spacious, reception staff helpful....now the bad news.....After booking 2 nights the first morning breakfast was ordered. Nothing special but after drinking my Pineapple juice that evening i was ill ( i did not eat anything after the meal) Investigating the history it was dicscovered that either the corned beef was off or perhaps because my drink had Ice cubes, which they may have been made be water from the tap. Whatever the answer is please i beg you do not have any cold drink from here with ice.

I stayed at LA RESERVE during 5 nights, at the end of December 2011 and spent New Year's Eve there. I really fell in love with Boracay and with White Beach, but really not that much with the hotel itself.

Let's start with the good things:

* The Location is the best. La Reserve is in the best spot of White Beach and the beach is just a few meters away from your room. This is a must.

* The Breakfast and food are also quite good. Even if it's also true for most places in Boracay.

The bad things:

* The staff doesn't seem to do much when the hotel owners are not there:
No greeting in the morning.... no smiles.... no service at ALL on the beach side.... I have never seen that in the Philippines, where service is usually at the top.

The only staff really professional was the security people in my opinion. Always ready to help.

* The Room we got (Bollinger) was very small. The Double bed would almost take 50% of the room size (not including the bathroom on the side). In such a small room, you survive a few days but you try to spend most of your time out of the room.
At 103 EUR (130 USD) per night you can expect something better...

* The Beach side was a real mafia. Imagine the hotel has only 14 beach beds to offer, for a full capacity of 50 guests. You get there early and you realize that all seats have been reserved by friends of the owners, or regular guests, who show up a lot later ....
The Staff is the one reserving these beds. Make sure you are on the LUCKY LIST if you want to enjoy the beach side.

As a Conclusion, I would say I will not return to la RESERVE.
The RED COCONUT next door would have been a much better choice I think.
