The hotel is exactly what the homepage is promissing. It's modern, huge, renovated, offers lot's of dining facsilities and the service is ok as long as you speak fluently english and you find the right person for your requirement. We are travelling around Europe and Asia a lot and with our experiance it was easy to communicate.
In total we have reserved 4 rooms 107+109+111+112. The first two rooms have been located at the groundfloor, close to the pool and opposite the restaurant.
The other two rooms have been on the first floor over the Mc Donalds Restaurant. The size for all room was the same and reasonable for 2 persons.
The ressort does also operate the Bar and Discothek "WAVE" and it's nearly impossible to sleep before midnight. On the weekend it could also hapen that the bass bumps you into your dreams if you go to bed before 3 a.m.
Breakfast was ok. The restaurant was always crowded but for long staying guest they offer a a la carte menue at Christina's. The menue contents 6 dishes and after the third day you can also try to mix and combine these dishes once you have explained your wishes to the nice staff.
But pls. don't expact lovely and silent beaches at Boracay. That is defenetely a huge missunderstanding and pls. never consider to travel there between Juli and August. It was really a nightmare to see all the windbreakers and huge tents at the beach. The wind is so strong that nearly every meter beachfront was covered by the windbreakers and tents. In the evening they use the tents to offer beach buffet, which was excellent price and qualitywhise. Buffet 650-700 Peso and alckoholic drinks 50% off. Bottle white wine "Harrys stamp" 550 Peso just for reference. Steaks were include and after 9 p.m. all the chiefs starts their dancing performance which was amusing. Special thanks to the chief waiter Jay-R !
The spa is really nice but extremely expensive. 4.000 Peso for 1.5 h full body massage. We did it once and it was a nice luxurious experiance. There are a lot of nice and cheap massage places across the strees and off the beaten track.
Boracay is THAT party island for peopel who usually stay there over the weekend and/or for short trip. You find hundreds of pubs along the beachfront and some nice restaurants as well as fast food providers. Pls. don't forget that this island was tourisicly discovered around 15 years ago and they have developed the biz extremly fast. Everybody is nice, friendly and helpful as long as you have enough money to spend...
Our children has booked the pub crawl (every Thu and Sat) and they had fun as well. The beachfront pub's are always crowded at the weekend and the majority is feemale with philippine backround...if you know what I mean.
At daytime you wll find hundreds of selling peopel for jet ski, island hopping, squad, ATV etc. on the beachfront. You really need to bargain. We made good experiance with Alfred and after we clearly pointed out, that we don't wanted to be cheated, he showed us some nice beaches and went with us to the ZORB bowl as well as island hopping and snorkeling. He provided fresh and good food with reasonable prices from the local market.
All in all it was a nice time at Boracay and in the Regency ressort but it was not extraordinary nice at it was at Koh Chang(Thailand), Samui, Phuket, Hua Hin or even Crimson ressort CEBU.
