My friends and I were set to stay at La Carmela, but then we heard about this classy little hotel centrally located on the island. I always prefer staying somewhere smaller because you always get better customer service, but I didn't expect it to be this fantastic! First of all, the rates are a steal, considering it's about a minute's walk away from the white sand beach! It was the perfect location. Had we been at a beachfront hotel, it would have been too noisy to sleep, but we were able to walk back from the Boracay nightlife and get a peaceful night's rest. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much, but the rooms were so clean, with fresh towels to greet us from out crazy flight and boat ride. Our room had a small balcony, which was great because we weren't expecting any outdoor space. By the time we got there, we were already starving. Already steps away from all of the restaurants, we weren't worried about finding a place to eat. When we asked the manager for a recommendation, to our surprise, he showed us some menus of restaurants nearby and told us that there was a discount for Isla Del Mar guests. He also said that if we didn't feel like going out, we could also have the food delivered. AMAZING! We ended up eating at Red Coconut, which was only a stone's throw away. Our FREE discount 'bracelets' were honored there and we were able to chow down right on the beach in lounge chairs! We were too tired to go out that day, but the days following, we sifted through activity pamphlets in the lobby and found out that the hotel arranges everything for their guests. We even got a discount on the activities! We never wanted to leave! Our stay was great. The staff is great. The island is SO beautiful. You don't have to stay at a five star hotel to get a five star experience and that's what Isla Del Mar is. I'm suggesting this to everyone and anyone who is planning on going to Boracay.
