I have stayed a Jay Jay's twice once on my own and once with 4 friends. If, and when I return this will be my first choice of accomodation. The owners are super friendly and make you feel part of the family, nothing is too much trouble for them, and they make an already unique hotel experince even better. The location is brilliant as it is still close enough to white beach and all the buzz but far enough away to be peaceful. Some ppl have mentioned the steps up the hill to the hotel and its amazing views, but really they are not that bad and takes only a minute or so, unless you are really old and unstable. I was unstable one night coming home at 2am one morning after a big night out and passed out at the bottom of the steps.. One of the waiters that work there found me and carried me up the stairs and put me in my room... How's that for service !

We stayed here for a week in June and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We're so glad we didn't book a hotel on ground level near the main road on the island because there are so many trikes on Boracay and they can be very noisy plus you've got the bars at night that play loud music too.

The steps up to the hotel seem to be a bit of a problem for some but you have to remember that the climb up to the hotel will take you away from all the noise - and you'll also have the splendid views of the ocean.

The standard room we stayed in was excellent. Clean, spacious with a massive bed and a large bathroom. The room was cleaned daily and the bed was changed regularly.

The staff were very friendly and courteous and I can't remember any of them failing to smile when we talked to them. They went out of their way to help when asked which we found very satisfying too.

If we were to come back to Boracay, Jay Jays would definitely get our custom again. Fantastic.

A. Location - 15 min from jetty port via taxicle (but driver confused Jayjay's to an inn at station 3); just at the left back side of Sto.Rosario Church (sitio and azul as landmarks); good eighty or so steps to Jayjay's (name of owners' son);
B. Welcome intro - by a young wacky Filipino (can) speaking Swiss with his amigo Austrian friendly neighbor; homey; personalized; offers juice soda or beer; hang around with Kidd or rest or walk around upon arrival;
C. Roof Deck - more than 180 degree view of the Balabag side of Boracay Beach; building with suites and standard rooms;
D. Room (2 floors only) - 2nd floor; cool aircon; cabled TV; mosquito netted bed; ref with cold drinks; electronically locked doors; hot and cold water; had 2 bath towels soap and shampoo; bed mattress fine but depending on the weather warmer blankets must be provided for not so young clients;
E. To beach front and elsewhere - 2 to 3 minutes to beach; 15 minutes to Shangri la via taxicle; an hour or so walking by the beach to eateries, bars, stalls; terrific sunset view;
F. Other amenities - billiards, pool, lots of enjoyable stories from owner, guests and staffs; gecko friendlies (don't hunt them); wifi; 100 or so live music videos;
G. 1st day - 4 or so bottles of beer on the house upon arrival (1030-1400 hrs); long walk at the beach (1500-1800 hrs) followed by a soothing hour massage (1830-1945 hrs) then dinner ( 2000-2130 hrs) red snapper for sinigang & grilled, oysters, chicken wings); walked along d'mall & took taxicle (P20@) back to Jayjay's 15 min.; long talk with Austrian neighbor and Russian guests (2230-2400+ hrs);
H. 2nd day - 7am buffet breakfast near the beach (0700-0900 hrs); pictures and walk along the beach exchanging stories/experiences (0900-1015 hrs); walk back to Jayjay's; dip into beach for 30 min taking pictures and watching passers by (1100-1215 hrs); lunch at a Filipino grill resto (1230-1430 hrs / beer, kinilaw fish with grilled pork, grilled squid, beef caldereta); bought souvenir shirts (liked freshly hand painted shirts); took taxicle to Jayjay's;
took shower and off again to Shangri la by taxicle (20 min) special fare P150 had coffee took pictures and talk with staffs (1630-1900); dinner by the beach; from 2300 to 0200 hrs talk with owner and another Swiss pal (business and personal talk);
I. 3rd day - left for Manila 0600 hrs still everybody sleeping; my companion left his medicine bottles inside fridge but owner arranged ship back to Manila;

Warm cozy friendly.

First of all lets start off with the bad ....nothing! I honestly could not fault anything about our short stay here. from the minute we arrived the owner Kid and his wife could not have been more accommodating. Its like a cross between satying in a hotel and somebody's house. I see a few people have moaned about the steps you have to climb to get to to jay Jays.....if this bothers you climbing a few steps then dont book it! As Jay Jays is elevated it offers fantastic panoramic views and gentle cooling breeze throughout the day. To say we loved the place...well we are looking at booking Xams here! Although we stayed in the basic accommodation it had everything including a large plasma TV and a fridge. We had to leave as the place was full and we have booked in to a 4 star for our final night but would much rather be at Jay Jays! It is also very close to the beach and all the nightlife..fantastic! I was also able to look at one of the apartments....105m2....again fantastic and well worth the money especially if you are a family
